💙 Feel Good Friday

We're ending the week with a look back at one of the simple moments that made the end of the school year so special.

Last week, Mr. Farris and the 6th Grade Guitar Class took advantage of the beautiful weather and hosted their final lunchtime concert outside. Students shared their musical talents while classmates enjoyed an outdoor performance in the sunshine. ☀️

It's moments like these, students building confidence, sharing their gifts, and creating memories together, that make Oak Grove such a special place.

Great job to our young musicians, and thank you to Mr. Farris for helping them shine! 🦅🎶

As we enjoy summer break, we're looking back at some of the fun from the final days of the school year!

Second grade was having an absolute blast as they celebrated the end of another great year together. From laughter and smiles to making memories with classmates, it was the perfect way to wrap up a fantastic year of learning and growth. 💙

A look back at one of our 5th graders' favorite learning experiences from the end of the school year! 🦅

Before summer break began, students stepped back in time for an unforgettable Civil War Day. Through reenactors, presenters, demonstrations, and hands-on activities, they experienced history in a whole new way.

Students learned about artillery, photography, infantry, cavalry, music, and even cricket, bringing their classroom lessons to life while having a lot of fun along the way.

Last month, a group of Oak Grove students participated in a Student AI Focus Group facilitated by LEAP Innovations.

During the session, students shared their thoughts about their learning experiences, reflected on what has helped them succeed, and discussed how technology can support learning in safe and meaningful ways. Most importantly, they had the opportunity to share their perspectives and help shape future learning experiences at Oak Grove.

At Oak Grove, we believe student voice matters. The insights shared during this session will help inform future planning as we continue creating engaging learning experiences that meet the needs of all students.

Tuesday Trip Throwback!

One of the highlights of the final weeks of the school year was Oak Grove's very first Washington, D.C. trip!

Many of our graduating class spent four unforgettable days exploring our nation's capital, visiting iconic monuments, incredible museums, and historic landmarks. The timing made the experience even more special as Washington, D.C. prepares to celebrate America's 250th anniversary.

From educational experiences to lasting memories with classmates, it was truly a trip of a lifetime.

A huge thank you to the families, chaperones, and staff members who helped make this inaugural trip such a success. ❤️

Kindergarten Walk-In Registration is coming up on Monday, June 8 and Tuesday, June 9 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

We are excited to welcome our newest students and their families as they begin their Oak Grove journey!

When attending your child's screening session, please remember to bring:
• Proof of Residency
• Birth Certificate
• Medical Records

If you are unable to attend during the walk-in dates or have questions about registration requirements, please contact our Registrar, Michelle Mercurio, at 224-424-4725.

Did your kiddo wake up missing school already? Or have you already heard, "I'm bored?" ☀️

Oak Grove is still open this summer for SOOO much fun!

Our summer camps are filling up fast, but there's still time to register. Check out these fun photos from last year's Smiling Stars Musical Theatre Camp. Students can sign up for a morning session, an afternoon session, or make it a full day by registering for both. Just pack a lunch and spend the day with us!

Our Camps run June 15-18, and there are MANY different camps offered by Oak Grove teachers that still have space available.

Some moments quietly mark the end of an era. 💙

After 27 years of welcoming students, keeping them safe, and being a familiar face throughout the school day, Mrs. Tazzioli completed her final bus duty yesterday as she prepares for retirement.

Generations of Oak Grove students and families have been greeted by her kindness, dedication, and steady presence. While today marks the last day of school, it also marks the closing of an incredible chapter of service to our school community.

Thank you, Mrs. Tazzioli, for 27 years of making Oak Grove a better place. We wish you all the best in your retirement! 💙🦅💙

That's a wrap on another incredible year at Oak Grove! 💙🦅

From the first day of school to the last, our students learned, grew, achieved, explored, performed, competed, created, and made memories that will last a lifetime.

As we head into summer, we'd like to thank everyone who helped make this year so special. Thank you to our dedicated staff for the care, encouragement, and support you provide each day. Thank you to our families for your partnership throughout the year. Thank you to our PTO for the countless ways you supported our students and school community. And thank you to our Board of Education for your leadership and commitment to Oak Grove.

We hope everyone enjoys a well-deserved summer filled with fun, relaxation, and new adventures.
