One of Adler Park School's most beloved traditions returned on the last day of school: the Transformation Tunnel!

As students ran through a tunnel of cheering teachers and staff, they emerged on the other side as the next grade level, ready for new opportunities and adventures. The event was filled with smiles, high-fives, and excitement as students celebrated a successful school year.

For Adler's fifth-graders, the tradition was especially meaningful as they made their final trip through the tunnel before heading to Highland Middle School.

A milestone worth celebrating.

District 70's Little Sprouts Preschool students recently took center stage as they celebrated graduation and the completion of an exciting year of learning, growth, and discovery.

From making new friends and building confidence to exploring, creating, and learning together, these young learners have accomplished so much. We can't wait to see all the amazing things they do next as they begin their next chapter.

Congratulations, Little Sprouts! 🌱

Technology expert Caren Kimbarovsky is retiring after a career defined by innovation and a passion for education, having spent 16 years in Libertyville School District 70.

She concluded her professional journey last November at Highland Middle School, where she served as an Applied Technology teacher. This final role brought her back to the heart of the classroom after she spent fifteen years as one of the first Technology Literacy Coaches for Libertyville District 70, a position she describes as being "designed to bridge traditional classroom instruction with the fast pace of emerging technology."

For more than three decades, Kimbarovsky refined her skills to support staff and students from kindergarten through eighth grade. She came to D70 after working as a technology coach in North Shore School District 112, having spent seventeen years in Arlington Heights School District 25 in roles including team leader, resource teacher, and tech specialist. An inspiring speaker, she frequently shared her knowledge at national workshops and with the Illinois Digital Educators Alliance.

Beyond her technical expertise, Kimbarovsky was a vital member of the HMS theater team, ensuring technology ran smoothly during musicals and concerts. Through it all, her focus remained on the "aha" moments that happen when a student or staff member masters a new tool.

An approachable and helpful coworker, Kimbarovsky will miss the daily collaboration and the chance to "kibbitz" or chat with her colleagues. When asked how she would like to be remembered, she said she hopes she made technology feel "less intimidating and more possible," helping students and staff see new tools not as obstacles but as "opportunities to learn … never be afraid to try something new.”

As she enters retirement, she is trading lesson plans for new adventures, including traveling to Europe. She is also rekindling her love for the flute and challenging herself to learn Russian, piano, and guitar while continuing to experiment with artificial intelligence to keep up with a changing world.

A library in bloom.

At Rockland School, Learning Center Director Becky Johnson is bringing a student-inspired vision to life by creating a Japanese cherry blossom tree in the library. The idea emerged through a student survey designed to elevate student voice and help shape the learning environment.

The project is still in progress, but we can't wait to see the tree in full bloom and the impact it will have on the library space.

A special thank you to the students who are helping bring this vision to life.

What a way to wrap up the school year!

Adler Park School students celebrated an incredible year at the annual Way to Go Assembly, recognizing their commitment to following the Gator Way. Through the school's PBIS program, students and classrooms were honored for demonstrating positive behavior, responsibility, and kindness throughout the year.

The celebration ended on a memorable note as Mrs. Miller, Mrs. Acosta, and Mrs. Lindsey showed their school spirit by taking pies to the face from a few lucky students, bringing plenty of laughter and excitement to the crowd.
Thank you to Adler's students, staff, and families for helping make this school year such a success. Way to go, Gators!

What happens when students help lead the conversation? New ideas take shape.

At Highland Middle School, students played a central role in reimagining the identity of what was formerly known as the Arts Department. Through surveys, focus groups, and thoughtful discussions, they helped inspire the department's new name: I.M.P.A.C.T. (Innovative Music, Performing Arts, Art, Family & Consumer Sciences, Applied Technology).

The name reflects the breadth of experiences available to students and the lasting impact these programs have on learning, creativity, and growth. Thank you to the students and families who helped bring this vision to life.

Later, Gator!

Adler Park School students closed out the 2025-2026 school year with smiles, celebrations, and one final chance to connect with classmates, teachers, and friends before summer begins.

From classroom memories to new friendships and accomplishments big and small, this year was filled with moments that helped students learn, grow, and thrive. As the halls emptied and summer adventures awaited, there was plenty of excitement for what lies ahead.

Have a fun, safe, and well-deserved summer, Gators.
