One more thing, we would also like to give acknowledgement to the African American Community for creating this holiday on May 1, 1865 in Charleston, South Carolina, where thousands of newly freed Black residents gathered to honor fallen Union soldiers, creating a ritual of remembrance that predated the formalization of the national holiday!

Missouri retirees know one thing better than anyone: if something sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Repealing Missouri’s income tax is not free. The money still has to come from somewhere and many experts believe working families and retirees could end up paying more through higher sales taxes and use taxes.

Public schools, local communities, and retirement stability all depend on responsible funding.
