Today, as we celebrate the City’s 70th anniversary, we are proud of the progress we have made. From our first City Hall operating from a storefront on NE 24th Street to the thriving City we are today with multiple facilities and exceptional services for our residents.

We recognize all who have shaped our City’s story, the founders who incorporated, leaders who have guided our growth, employees who have served our community and the generations of residents whose involvement continues to make Lighthouse Point an extraordinary place.

We invite you to join us in celebrating this historic 70th anniversary! Follow along as we share memories from the past seven decades and highlight upcoming events, including the burial of a commemorative time capsule.

A heartfelt thank you to The Nauti Dawg Marina Cafe located at 2841 Marina Circle, for their generous support and donation to our employees. Whether you arrive by boat or by land, Nauti Dawg offers a welcoming, family-friendly waterfront atmosphere complete with live music and great dining. They even cater to four-legged guests with a special K-9 menu featuring delicious options for well-behaved, leashed dogs.

In 2024, Mayor Van Buskirk started an Employee Appreciation Program. Local businesses generously donate to the Program that helps recognize the hard workers of our City.

We’re excited to celebrate the ribbon cutting of the new Broward Health Lighthouse Point Freestanding Emergency Room today.

This new facility will provide residents and visitors with faster access to emergency medical care closer to home, helping reduce travel times during critical moments and expanding healthcare resources in our City. We’re proud to welcome this valuable addition to Lighthouse Point and look forward to the positive impact it will have on our residents for years to come.

Hurricane Season begins today!

It's time to get prepared, stay informed, and ensure your family's safety.

✅ Check your emergency kits
✅ Review evacuation routes
✅ Secure important documents
✅ Follow trusted weather alerts
✅ Look out for your neighbors

Now is the time to trim trees and shrubbery, and remove coconuts. Having your property maintained before a storm will help to ensure that our Public Works Department will be able to assist all areas of the City during unexpected emergencies.

From June 1 to November 30, building material shall be loaded on a roof no earlier than twenty (20) working days prior to the permanent installation of those materials. This will be strictly enforced.
