The school📕 year may be winding down but Fort Ligonier has planned a FREE, fun, and innovative one-day Leadership Seminar for young adults ages 16-21 on Saturday, June 20, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM! ☀️

Please share this information with the young adults in your life!😎

The “There is more expected… than the title.” Leadership in Washington’s Time offers young men and women an opportunity to develop their leadership potential, using the biographical example of George Washington at their same age, and at the identical location where he developed his leadership acumen through real life experiences.

Participation in this event would be a great asset to add to a college, scholarship or job application. 💻

This program will feature a day-long series of immersive experiences, historical interpreter engagement, and participatory programming! Students will gain new insights on strengthening their own leadership skills by using George Washington and the French and Indian War.

Happy Memorial Day from Fort Ligonier!

This past weekend's sporadic rain showers and gusty winds did not deter visitors from engaging with this incredible group of Seven Years' War historical interpreters who traveled as far as the Midwest for our annual 18th Century Military Encampment Weekend.

HUZZAH to all and to the Ligonier-based, veterans-owned Heroes Never Alone Inc Fox's Pizza who generously donated dinner for these men who portray 18th Century soldiers.

It Took an Army!

The cherished Washington-Lafayette pistols have returned to Fort Ligonier after six months on display at the National Museum of the U.S. Army, Fort Belvoir, Va in time for Memorial Day weekend and America's 250th birthday!

The pistols rarely leave the museum, but when the United States Army asked for us to temporarily loan them for the exhibit, "Call to Arms: The Soldier and the Revolutionary War," commemorating the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States Army, we were honored.

We are thrilled that the thousands of visitors who explore the National Museum of the U.S. Army each year learned about our historic site and museum.

Plan your visit to see these National Treasures.

Stop by the Fort today or tomorrow and meet the French Forces! ☀️

The French may have been our foe during the 1758 Forbes Campaign, but this weekend they are our friends when we welcome them into the Upper Fort for the annual French Garrison Weekend.

Visitors can interact with the historical interpreters who portray the everyday life of the French soldiers and civilians of Nouveau France during the mid-18th century and discover what their lives were like so far from home. 🏡
