The cardboard and paper recycling dumpsters are CLOSED. They are full. A request for service was made to our vendor last Thursday.

We will post an update when they have been emptied.

Ligonier Beach is CLOSED until further notice.

At the July 14 Board of Supervisors meeting, the Board voted to CLOSE the Ligonier Beach park property until a loss control expert from the Township's insurance carrier analyzes existing hazards. The property reopen when those identified hazards have been remediated.

The following roads are scheduled to be chip-sealed in 2026. The tentative start date for tar and chip work is July 27, subject to weather and other variables. All roads in the following list are scheduled to be done from end to end, unless otherwise noted:

Update to our previous post: California Ave will NOT need to be closed on Thursday, June 25. The new stormwater crosspipes were successfully installed today, Wednesday June 24.

Our public works crew will still be in the area tomorrow finishing the work and hauling away equipment, so please drive carefully through the work zone.

We will return next month to asphalt over the new crosspipes.

California Ave will be closed tomorrow, June 24, from approximately 6:30 am until 1:30 pm, for the replacement of two failing stormwater crosspipes. Between Weimer Ave and Armor Street. Rolling Rock can be accessed by using Rolling Rock Lane on Route 381.

Please do NOT use the private bridge on Armor Lane. The bridge is in terrible shape and cannot handle the traffic.

If work goes poorly, California may be closed again the morning of Thursday, June 25, until the work is complete.

"Data Centers" has been on the Board of Supervisors and Planning Commission agendas for months. These agenda items are NOT because the Township is in receipt of any applications for data centers, nor because the Township is trying to bring in data centers. Just the opposite - the board, commission, and staff would like to have rules and restrictions in place in case someone wants to build a data center in Ligonier.

The currently proposed draft amendment to our zoning ordinance adding "data centers" can be found on the "Forms & Ordinances" tab of our website: https://ligoniertownship.com/forms.php

The next meetings where discussion about data centers will happen are the Planning Commission meetings scheduled for Thursday, June 25. Workshop at 5:00 pm, regular meeting at 6:00 pm.

None of the catch basins nor storm drains in Ligonier Township go to a sewer plant for treatment. If you dump something down a catch basin, it will end up on a neighbor's property or in a creek. Please help keep our waterways clean!
