OCD isn't always visible; it can be either partially or entirely invisible, depending on how your symptoms show up.

Many people deal with mental compulsions, which are often incredibly distressing and hard to deal with, as they can feel like your brain is turning against you. It can be easy to slip into doing mental compulsions, and you might struggle to differentiate them from “regular” thinking, which can feel distressing.

Thankfully, regardless of how your OCD shows up, it can be effectively treated and managed with ERP (exposure and response prevention) therapy.
