Today we remember our brother in blue, Officer Antwan Toney of the Gwinnett County Police Department. Officer Tony made the ultimate sacrifice on this day in 2018, and he will forever live in our memories. Rest easy 1808.

We are incredibly grateful to Trinity Lutheran Church for their generous donation of stuffed animals to the Lilburn Police Department!

These stuffed animals will allow our officers to provide a little extra comfort and bring smiles to children during difficult moments.

Please join us in welcoming Officer Toan Danh to LPD! Officer Danh was sworn in by Mayor Crist yesterday and will be on the streets very soon. Officer Danh is a Lilburn-area resident & certified police officer who comes to us from another Metro Atlanta agency, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience.

This tragedy occurred in April of 2024. We are so proud of the hard work of our patrol officers, investigators, and the District Attorneys Office to secure a life sentence.

JUSTICE FOR VICTIMS: Teodros Mulat Shibeshi, 64, pled guilty to malice murder, two counts of aggravated assault, and possession of a fi***rm during the commission of a felony for the April 2024 shooting death of 57-year-old Tigist Lulesegud and the shooting of her 65-year-old brother, Abebe D. Yeshetela.

Shibeshi was sentenced to life in prison plus 25 years without the possibility of parole.

The Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office remains committed to seeking justice for victims of violent crime, supporting their families, and holding offenders accountable.
