🌟Citizen Spotlight: Larry and Kim Mitchell🌟

The Harnett County Register of Deeds Office had the pleasure of assisting Harnett County residents Larry and Kim Mitchell with their passport applications.

Larry and Kim are wonderful examples of citizens who make a positive difference in our community through their service and involvement. Larry is a proud veteran who continues to serve others through his volunteer work at the Harnett County Resource Center and Library. He has also dedicated countless hours to litter cleanup efforts along Harnett County roadways, helping keep our community clean and beautiful for everyone.

In addition, Larry is also actively involved with the Lexington Plantation Neighborhood Watch, working alongside neighbors to promote safety and community engagement. He is also a familiar face at Harnett County Board of Commissioners meetings, where he regularly participates in public comment sessions and provides thoughtful input on issues affecting our county.

We appreciate Larry and Kim for their commitment to making Harnett County a better place to live, work, and raise a family. Thank you both for your continued dedication to our community.

🌎 A Milestone Day for the Harnett County Register of Deeds Office! 🌎

Yesterday, we had the privilege of assisting our very first passport applicants since becoming an official Passport Acceptance Facility.

Deputy Register of Deeds Staci Harper Clark assisted local businessman and Lillington Town Commissioner Danny Babb and former Harnett County Register of Deeds Kimberly S. Hargrove with their passport applications, marking the beginning of this service for our citizens.

It was especially fitting that two individuals with strong ties to our office helped commemorate this milestone. Mr. Babb is a longtime supporter of the office and is the husband of Assistant Register of Deeds Lorie Babb. Ms. Hargrove previously led the Register of Deeds Office with distinction, helping build the foundation upon which many of our current services and successes stand today. Having her return to the office as one of the first passport applicants made this occasion even more meaningful.

We are proud to offer passport acceptance services locally and make the application process more convenient for our citizens. Whether you’re planning a vacation, a business trip, or international adventure, your journey can now begin right here at the Harnett County Register of Deeds Office.

📣 BIG NEWS FOR HARNETT COUNTY! 🇺🇸

Harnett County Register of Deeds is proud to announce that we are now an Authorized U.S. Passport Acceptance Facility for the U.S. Department of State!

Beginning Monday, June 22, 2026, our office will officially begin accepting passport applications, making it more convenient than ever for Harnett County residents to apply for a U.S. passport close to home.

🗓️ Appointments: Monday - Friday
⏰ 8:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.
⏰ 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.

Appointments are scheduled in one-hour increments. While walk-ins are welcome, appointments are highly encouraged and will receive priority service.

📸 Passport photos are available on-site for just $15.

We’re excited to announce that Broadway Zoological Park will officially resume our normal business schedule beginning March 11th!
