A period of dangerously hot weather starts today, with high temperatures reaching the mid to upper 90s. A heat advisory has been issued for areas from the Triangle to the south and east, where the heat index may reach 105F.

A Heat Advisory is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM today for parts of the southern and eastern Piedmont, Sandhills and central and southern Coastal Plain. Heat indices of 102-108 degrees are expected. Take extra precautions if you have to be outside and take action if you see signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke!

Last night we had the pleasure of training with our mutual aid partners Summerville Bunnlevel Fire and Rescue on vehicle extrication. Members practiced working with equipment from both departments, helping us maintain interoperability on these time critical incidents.

We would like to thank instructor Todd Bane for coming out and leading training.

Starting salary of $48,474.65 annually (before built in overtime pay)

This position works a rotating 24 hour shift schedule over a 9 day cycle
(on, off, on, off, on, off, off, off, off)
