Camel Company Club page of The Campbell University Camel Company Club. Campbell College's first officer was commissioned in May 1973.

We welcome all Campbell commissioned officers, alumni, supporters, and current Camel Company members to follow us on Facebook. In 1971, Campbell College was one of 12 colleges selected out of 45 which applied, to be granted a senior division ROTC unit. The Department of Military Science at Campbell College was established by General Order No. 4, Headquarters, Third United States Army, dated 28 Jan

uary 1971. The general military science program conducted at Campbell College is offered as an elective and consists of both a two year and a four year program for students. Willing and interested students have been allowed to compress their program to complete requirements for commissioning. The Military Science Department at Campbell College conducts a modified program consisting of the following courses: MS 101, "The US Defense Establishment", encompasses the organization of the Army and ROTC, the military as a profession and national security; MS 102, "Introduction to Tactics and Operations", covers the fundamentals of offensive and defensive tactics with emphasis on leadership in small units and techniques of fire. The sophomore year consists of Government 229, American Government, and History 338, American Military History. The Advance Course instruction includes MS 301, a study of the fundamentals of leadership and leadership psychology and methods of instruction. MS 302 includes a survey of the branches of the Army, a study of small unit tactics and the Army communications systems, with emphasis placed on methods and security. In their final year Cadets study the Army Division in MS 401 with emphasis on the fundamentals of the application of military force. MS 402 instruction consists of a study of military justice, contemporary automatic data processing systems used by the Army, and the areas of responsibility of each staff section. Campbell Battalion consists of the following schools: Campbell, Fayetteville State, Methodist, and UNCP. Each school in Campbell Battalion has a company name. Campbell University's company name is 'Camel Company.'

CDT Justin Minniti:

CDT Minniti is a Washington native and a senior at Campbell University, where he is pursuing a Bachelors of Business administration and Management. Before joining ROTC, he served as a 11B Infantryman and sniper in the 82nd Airborne. His past experience helped shaped his approach to discipline, leading by example, and caring for others under pressure. Upon graduation, CDT Minniti will commission into the United States Army as an Infantry Officer. He believes two things, stay humble and stay hungry. Always put the troops before yourself, and never settle for anything less than excellence. Outside of ROTC, he values time with his family, physical fitness, and attending long range shooting events.

It’s time for our Tuesday Senior Spotlight ⭐️

CDT Austin Summerlin:

CDT Summerlin is a North Carolina native and a senior at Campbell University, where he is pursuing a Master of Public Health. Before joining ROTC, he served as a 68W Combat Medic, an experience that shaped his approach to leadership, resilience, and caring for others under pressure. He earned his Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and has continued to build on that foundation through both academic and military training. Upon graduation, CDT Summerlin will commission into the United States Army as a Medical Service Corps Officer. He is driven by a commitment to take care of Soldiers first, ensuring both their medical readiness and overall well-being. His leadership philosophy is grounded in discipline, accountability, and leading from the front, with a focus on building trust and cohesion within his team. Outside of ROTC, he values time with his family, reading different series, working on DIY home projects, and attending the local sporting events. He also spends time studying leadership, health, and faith, which continue to shape both his personal life and his approach to service.

CDT Samuel StLaurent:

CDT StLaurent is from North Carolina and is a senior at Campbell University pursuing a Master of Public Health. Prior to joining ROTC, he was an 18D a special forces medical sergeant. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and has continued to build a strong foundation in leadership and service. Upon graduation, CDT StLaurent will commission into the United States Army as a Finance Officer. He is committed to disciplined leadership, stewardship of resources, and continuous personal and professional growth. He strives to lead with integrity while supporting mission readiness through sound financial management. Outside of ROTC, he enjoys spending time with his family, working on hands on projects, and studying topics related to health, leadership, and faith.

CDT Nataly King:

CDT King is a native of Wilkes, North Carolina, and a senior at Campbell University, where she is earning her Bachelor of Arts in History. Prior to joining ROTC, she served in the United States Army as a 13F Fire Support Specialist. Upon graduation, CDT King will commission as an Active Duty Logistics Officer. She is passionate about continuously learning, pushing herself outside of her comfort zone, and taking on new challenges. Her long-term goal is to attend U.S. Army Ranger School and further develop as both a leader and Soldier. In her free time, she enjoys being outdoors, spending time with her family, reading, and training in combatives.

CDT Naithan Westcott

Cadet Westcott is from Fayetteville, North Carolina. He is pursuing a bachelor's in Cybersecurity at Campbell University. His hobbies encompass many projects, like working on his bike and his car, and attending CTF events(Capture the Flag). He will commission in the national guard as a signal officer. He is passionate about sharing his knowledge base and the diversity of knowledge that others can bring.

With six platoons and eight missions completed, our spring FTX pushed us to the limit. From day to night land navigation to training alongside East Carolina University, Methodist University, UNC Pembroke, and Fayetteville State, our cadets demonstrated grit, teamwork, and resilience every step of the way.

It’s time for our Tuesday Senior Spotlight! ⭐️

CDT Gustavo Blanco Martinez:

Cadet Blanco is a dedicated family man who takes pride in being present, supportive, and dependable for his loved ones. His family is his foundation and his motivation to keep growing every day. Outside of that, he stays active through hobbies that challenge both his body and mindset. He enjoy playing soccer, where teamwork and discipline come naturally, and he spends time in the gym building strength and resilience. He also has a passion for running long distances, which helps him stay focused, clear his mind, and push past limits. Professionally, he is branching into Military Intelligence and will soon be commissioned as an officer, a role that reflects his commitment to leadership, discipline, and serving with purpose.

CDT Jonathan Hernandez:

Jon was born in California and raised in Norh Carolina. He scored a 500 on the AFT in each of the past two tests, earning himself the title of Iron Camel. He is currently pursing his MBA. His hobbies include participating in 1,000 pounds clubs, and competing in USA Boxing events, cooking, and coaching his children in youth sports. He branched Signal Corps but previously worked in Aviation.

It’s time for our Tuesday Senior Spotlight! ⭐️

CDT Bryson Stewart:

He is originally from St. Paul’s, North Carolina, and is currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Homeland Security at Campbell University. He enjoys spending time outdoors, especially fishing and hiking, and values the balance in staying active and connected to nature. Upon graduation, he will commission as an active duty Field Artillery officer in the United States Army. He is passionate about leadership and looks forward to leading and developing his future soldiers. He believes in leading from the front, setting the standard, and helping those around him grow both personally and professionally.
