BKP Ambulance in Kenton reached out to us a few weeks ago regarding a power cot that they had that was no longer certified for patient transport. We were able to pick the cot up today. Even though this cot’s patient transport days are in the rear view mirror it will enjoy a happy retirement helping future EMS providers train on up to date equipment. A big thank you to Chad Smith and the entire crew at BKP for helping Apollo ensure that our high school and adult EMS students are #Nextready!

The junior cadets had their first experience in full turnout gear and SCBA today. We had a little team building drill where they walked through the main building together on a hose line with wax paper in their face pieces. This works on their communication and orientation skills all while getting them used both the gear and reduced visibility.

Indian Joint Fire District

The Indian Joint Fire District is heartbroken over the loss of one of our own this weekend. Justin Webb, Unit 20, joined our department in January 2018 while finishing his senior year at Indian Lake High School. Justin answered the call to public service with courage, honor, and an unwavering willingness to do what many cannot imagine. He will be missed beyond measure .

Updated: The IJFD Firemen’s Club has created a Go Fund Me account on Justin’s behalf with proceeds to help his family cover funeral expenses. Please check back for updates.
