Allen County Children Services "Protecting Children...Strengthening Families" The agency offers support to many families to help them keep their children safe in their own homes.

Allen County Children Services is the agency mandated by Ohio law to provide protective services to the children of our county. When child abuse and/or neglect are placing children at risk, temporary custody and sometimes permanent custody, may become necessary. Every day we assess reports of abuse and neglect, provide ongoing services and collaborate with other social service organizations in Allen County to meet the needs of our community's most vulnerable children.

If you even needed a reason to go to the Allen County Fair, fair food is an easy choice. There’s plenty of tasty food at every turn. From funnel cakes to egg rolls to French Fries and many other mouth-watering treats. The fair has it, even breakfast. Stop out, forget your diet for a day and indulge at one of the food places. After eating, stop by our booth in the Merchant Building to learn more about the rewarding experience of foster parenting. You can help children right here in our community.

This is one of the 4-H projects at this year’s Allen County Fair. Children work very hard, often under the watchful eye of a parent, on their projects to show their animal at the fair. You can be a foster parent to a child in our community who needs a little extra help to thrive just like many of the children in 4-H. We are sad to learn of the death of Dolly Parton. Dolly was dedicated to helping children with one of her biggest focuses being child literacy. Millions of children around the country received free books through her Imagination Library to help learn how to read thanks to a vision Dolly had many years ago.
