CAN YOU HELP US IDENTIFY THESE DEPUTIES?

We are helping Van Wert FOP on a historical project and have a photo from July 1969 featuring two Allen County Sheriff’s Office deputies. We think we may have identified the deputy in the middle, we’re not positive though, and aren’t sure on the other deputy.

Take a close look at the photos below.
Recognize either man? Could it be a family member, neighbor, or former coworker who served our community in the late 60s?

If you have any leads, please drop a comment or send us a DM. And please SHARE this post to help us spread the word!

There has been a major increase this week in scam calls targeting Allen County residents and people are losing real money to these scammers.

🚨 LET US BE VERY CLEAR 🚨

The Allen County Sheriff’s Office will NEVER call you demanding money for a warrant, fine, missed jury duty, or bond payment. EVER.

If someone calls you claiming to be law enforcement and demands payment through:
• Bitcoin
• Gift cards
• Cash apps
• Wire transfers
…it is a SCAM. Hang up immediately.

Scammers are spoofing phone numbers to make it appear the call is coming from our office. Even if your caller ID shows 419-227-3535, DO NOT trust it. Our nonemergency number will never show up on your caller ID.

We understand these calls can sound intimidating, especially for people unfamiliar with the legal system. That is exactly what these scammers are counting on. But warrants, bonds, and legal matters are handled IN PERSON and never over the phone with immediate payment demands.

Please slow down and think before sending money to anyone over the phone. No legitimate law enforcement agency is taking payment in gift cards or Bitcoin.

🔒 Protect yourself:
• Do NOT give out personal information
• Do NOT provide banking or credit card information
• Do NOT send money to unknown callers

If you receive one of these calls, hang up immediately.

Please share this post to help warn your family members.
