CASA of Allen & Putnam Counties, Ohio

CASA of Allen & Putnam Counties, Ohio CASA of Allen & Putnam Counties, Ohio is a program of Crime Victim Services, Inc. CASA volunteers are a powerful voice for children.

CASA is a national program dedicated to providing quality court advocacy services to abused and neglected children under the jurisdiction of the Dependency Court. The mission of CASA is simple – “to support and promote court-appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so that they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.”

CASA makes a difference in the life of a child. In an overbu

rdened child welfare system, the unique one-on-one relationship that forms between the CASA volunteer and dependent child is often the most stable, positive relationship the child has. They make recommendations to the court that are in the child’s best interest and advise the court about what the child needs and wants, while providing the emotional support, stability and caring that every child deserves.

DID YOU KNOW? Our DONATION STATION has served Lima/Allen County for many many years it helps folks clean out their unwanted bikes. We take them and repurpose the ones that have value or life left to them. Those will go up for sale (only for the cost of the repairs done to them.) OR given tho those in need.
Any other misfits are disassembled, recycled in every way possible and any parts that are still good go to our boneyard and are sold for little to nothing(only to help offset the labor costs to do the work) or donated to those in need.

“It's easy to say, ‘It's not my child, not my community, not my world, not my problem.’

Then there are those who see the need and respond. I consider those people my heroes.”

— Fred Rogers

Every child deserves someone in their corner.

Right here in Allen County, children experiencing abuse and neglect need caring adults who are willing to show up, listen, and advocate for their best interests.

If you've ever wondered whether becoming a CASA Volunteer Advocate is right for you, consider this your nudge.

Our Fall Preservice Training begins soon, and the first step is simply a conversation. No pressure. Just a chance to learn more about CASA, our mission, and the impact one dedicated volunteer can have on a child's life.

Heroes aren't always the loudest people in the room. Sometimes they're the ones who see a need and choose to respond.

Could that be you? 🍂

Maybe you've seen a post about CASA before. Maybe someone has shared our mission with you. Maybe you've wondered if you could make a difference in the life of a child who needs someone in their corner.

This could be the sign you've been waiting for.

This fall, we're welcoming a new class of CASA Volunteer Advocates for Allen County. Through a flexible hybrid training model, you'll complete part of your preservice training online at your own pace and join us for in-person sessions on Thursday evenings throughout September and October.

The first step isn't a commitment to becoming a volunteer. It's simply a conversation. Schedule an informal interview, learn more about CASA, ask questions, and explore whether this opportunity is the right fit for you.

Children in our community are waiting for someone to speak up, show up, and stay consistent in their lives. One caring adult can make an incredible difference.

Will you be that person?

🍂 Fall Preservice begins soon.
📅 Volunteers will be sworn in to the juvenile court on October 15th and ready to begin advocating for local children.
