The entire state is currently under High to Very High fire danger. As a result, all open burning is prohibited statewide. The Maine Burn Permit website has suspended the issuance of permits accordingly.

This suspension is expected to remain in effect until we receive significant rainfall. Please stay alert, and report any signs of fire by calling 911.

On Tuesday, Limerick Fire-EMS completed a Propane burn training in partnership with Newfield Fire-Rescue. This training refreshed our members in how to handle Propane emergencies properly. The department would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Propane Gas Association of New England for providing the class room lecture and hands on training, St. Matthew Parish for allowing us to utilize their parking lot, and J.P. Carroll Fuel Co. for their generous donation of liquid propane, this training would not be possible without the support of our community and the PGANE instructors.

The Limerick Fire-EMS Department will be conducting Live Fire Training on Tuesday night, June 17, 2025. The training will include Class B (Liquid Fuel) fires and will take place in the parking lot of St. Matthew's Church on Dora Lane. The department would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Propane Gas Association of New England for providing the class room and hands on training, St. Matthews Parish for allowing us to utilize their parking lot, and J.P. Carroll Fuel Co. for their generous donation of liquid propane, this training would not be possible without the support of our community and the PGANE instructors.
Dora Ln. will be closed off in the area of Allaire Dr. for the duration of the training to allow access to the fire hydrant on Dora Ln.
The community is welcome to watch the training, please view from a safe distance on either Dora Ln. or Allaire Dr.

On 5/18/25 Limerick Fire-EMS along with Limington Fire Departmentcompleted a joint live burn training exercise. We are very grateful to the homeowner that donated this property and allowed over 40 firefighters from Limerick and Limington to practice their skills and develop better mutual aid strategies together. Here are some photos from the training.

Please use caution on Pickerel Pond at the Central Ave end, Limerick Fire-EMS and neighboring departments will be taking part in ice/cold water rescue technician training on Saturday.
The instructors prepped the site today in advance, the area is clearly marked, please avoid this part of the pond.
