JOIN US this weekend at the community festival known for the past 101 years as LINCOLN PARK DAYS! Sponsored every year since 1925 by the LP Exchange Club.

There are still orange traffic cones along Dix Hwy by Community Center Park, where the festival is held. Allow time for access and parking.

Hours are Friday Aug 28 4pm to 11pm, Saturday Aug 29 12 noon to 11pm and Sunday Aug 30 12 noon to 9pm

Carnival Rides, SPECIAL LIVE concerts, a huge variety of vendors and food concessions all three days. We hope to see you then!

On SATURDAY AUGUST 22 the Lincoln Park Little League will host the annual LL Alumni Baseball Game at Quandt Park, 1696 Dix Highway. Able-bodied players – of any age – from past years of the Lincoln Park squads, male or female are invited. The teams will be assigned at registration. No advance sign-up is necessary.

An opportunity for warms-ups & practice starts at 10:30 a.m., with registration and team selection at 11:30 a.m. The game time is 12 Noon at Quandt Park’s Roy Holcombe Field. Free parking for players and spectators.

The Lincoln Park Little League began its first season in 1953. Four years ago, when the first alumni game was held, players from as far back as the very first year joined in. Who will show up this year?

The game is sponsored by the Lincoln Park Little League; the ballfield, dugouts and game equipment are provided courtesy of the Lincoln Park Little League and its President David Cruz. Players are asked to provide their own gloves. The Lincoln Park Historical Society & Museum are proud co-sponsors of the event again this year.

Lincoln Park Mayor Maureen Tobin will be among those serving as honorary coaches for the annual celebration game.

While bleacher stands provide some seating for spectators, lawn chairs are welcome. There is no charge for admission.

"Come on down" to the LP Moose Lodge and support the museum today from 1pm to 4pm ($15 per person, meals for take out are also available.) Enjoy a late lunch or early dinner - Spaghetti with meat sauce or marina sauce, salad, bread, and the bar is open -- also LOTS of cool raffle items!

Museums operate on funding that comes from a variety of sources. The public can assist by attending things such as Spaghetti Dinners put on by benevolent organizations -- on Saturday August 15 from 1pm to 4pm the Lincoln Park Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge No. 1665 with help from the Nichols family is generously hosting. The cost is $15 for a full spaghetti dinner with meat sauce or marinara available. The lodge bar will be open as well. And be sure to check out the pretty nifty raffle items. AUGUST MUSEUM UPDATES

-- the "Lincoln Park Garden Walk" (rescheduled from July 18) will be held this Saturday August 1st, tour maps are available here at the museum beginning at 9:00 a.m. that morning. The walk/drive tour will last until 1:00 p.m. During that time you can visit some of our community's most beautiful gardens. Thanks to the Community Improvement Commission for organizing this annual event. Proceeds from donations for the maps will help to support the museum.

-- Also rescheduled is the LP Little League Alumni ball game at Quandt Park, to be held Saturday, August 22; the game time is 12 noon. If any former LL players or coaches would like to participate, the call time for practice and registration begins at 10:30 a.m. Players should supply their own gloves. Spectators are encouraged! There is no charge to attend.

-- A Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser for the museum is scheduled for Saturday August 15th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm at the Moose Lodge, at 1600 Fort Street. Use the back entrance off the parking lot. Cost is $15 per person. There will also be raffles of unique gift baskets and a 50/50 raffle.

And of course we will again be participating with a booth at the "Lincoln Park Days" weekend festival August 28-30th at Community Center Park.

We hope to see everyone sometime this month!

**** Included here is a photo of our new interpretive sign that was dedicated on the grounds Sunday July 26. The event commemorated the 250th anniversary of the St. Cosme Line and the gift of land deeded from the Potawatomi Nation to Pierre St. Cosme and his family on July 1, 1776. The one-time St. Cosme Line Road is today Southfield Road where the museum sits.

This Sunday, July 26 is the 250th anniversary commemoration (rescheduled from the July 1st heat wave) for the July 1, 1776 gift of land presented by the Potawatomi Nation to the Pierre St. Cosme family at Detroit which took place just days before the Declaration of Independence was adopted by the American Colonies. (see the attached press release for details)

THE COMMUNITY IS INVITED to attend and celebrate this milestone anniversary; taking place here on the museum lawn at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday July 26th; 1335 Southfield Road (old St. Cosme Line Road).

The events for Saturday July 18th have been CANCELLED due to the poor air quality.

The Little League alumni ballgame is to be rescheduled for a date in August.

The LP Garden Walk will now be held in two weeks on Saturday August 1st, same hours 9am to 1pm.

The historical museum is also closed on Saturday.
We hope all will take care with this dangerous air quality index.

On the same day - the morning of July 18th - is the annual Lincoln Park Garden Walk. Beginning at 9:00 A.M. maps to the homes on the tour can be picked up at the museum that morning for a nominal donation of any size, to benefit the historical museum. 1335 Southfield Road. The public is invited to attend the closing ceremony for the America 250 Field of Flags, at Memorial Park held on Sunday July 5th at 2:00 p.m. (The display's opening ceremony a few weeks ago was cancelled on account of rain.) Memorial Park sits on east side of Fort Street between London and Merrill.
