This is the latest forecast from the National Weather Service out of Wichita. It is gonna get bitterly cold outside. If you have to be outside, bundle up well. Please bring outside pets inside or at the very least, provide any outside pets with adequate shelter from the weather. If you must travel, keep blankets, a snack, water, flashlight and a fully charged cell phone in your vehicle. It is better to hunker down and wait it out. I know many of you are doing that as the empty shelves at Dillons in Salina were noticeable!

Let’s talk scams. If you receive a text like this, this is a scam. Thieves get pretty crafty and make things look like the real deal. It is never a bad idea to verify these messages but do NOT call the numbers or click on links from these messages. Look up the numbers or contact information from another legitimate source. Feel free to post snapshots or describe other scams you have received (do not include any personal information) in the comments.

Just a reminder that if visibility is poor (i.e. fog), use your headlights. Actually turn the dial to turn your headlights on and do NOT rely on your automatic lights. Also, if you are running your windshield wipers due to rain, sleet or snow, you are required to turn your headlights on.

It's that time of year again where we need to plan some extra time to commute. Starting late tonight and into tomorrow morning, we are expecting up to 2 inches of the white stuff. The roads could be slippery so prepare accordingly. Make sure you have gas/diesel in your tank. Make sure you have your winter kit in your vehicle.
