For more than 100 years, Big Brothers Big Sisters has operated under the belief that inherent in every child is the ability to succeed and thrive in life. Most children served by Big Brothers Big Sisters are in single-parent and low-income families or households where a parent is incarcerated. As the nation’s largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network, Big Brothers Big Sisters makes m

eaningful, monitored matches between adult volunteers (“Bigs”) and children (“Littles”). Big Brothers Big Sisters provides a system of ongoing evaluation and support which is proven by independent studies to help families by improving the odds that “Littles” will perform better in school and avoid violence and illegal activities, and have stronger relationships with their parents and others. Research on our volunteer programs points to the powerful & lasting impact of our one-to-one mentoring relationships. Littles are:
- 52% less likely to skip school
- 46% less likely to begin using illegal drugs
- More likely to get along with their families and peers

We’re excited to share that BBBS will be part of this year’s Pride Parade for the first time! 🌈💚

Join us on Saturday, June 13th, at 10 AM at the State Capitol as we celebrate community, connection, and showing up for one another.

We'll also have a booth at Saturday's festival, sharing how folks can join us and support Lincoln's young people. 🙂
