There is a mandatory 30-day waiting period for flood insurance, meaning if you have purchased flood insurance, coverage does not activate until 30 days from the date of purchase.

As we get closer to the spring season, it's important to remember your homeowners does not cover flooding due to rain. Consider getting flood insurance before the storms hit the state.

Starting as a financial analyst in 2022 and being promoted to Analyst Supervisor in January 2025, Tyler Rosenlof is a key member of the examination division of the department.

He leads supervisory reviews of the analysis team's work, provides mentorship and guidance to support growth, and helps ensure domestic insurance companies in Nebraska remain financially sound and meet the obligations of the policyholders.

His journey is a great example of growth and leadership in a young career as a regulator.

As part of our ongoing Insurance Careers Month series, we are highlighting individuals across the journey of entry level to expert.

Maggie Reinert joined the Department 10 years ago as an external review program coordinator and federal grant administrator.

Through her work with external review, federal grant administration and eventually form filing review, she built strong relationships between state government agencies, policyholders, and insurance companies while advancing the Department’s mission.

Today, she oversees the Life and Health Division at the department providing leadership and guidance to ensure compliance and protection for Nebraska’s policyholders.

Gina Goodro has spent 25 years with the Nebraska Department of Insurance, starting her career as a Mail Clerk Messenger with no prior background in insurance. By learning from the ground up, she has grown into numerous roles including Accounting Clerk, Staff Assistant, and now Insurance Education Analyst with the Licensing Division, where she reviews continuing education courses submitted for Nebraska producers.

Serving the public has guided her throughout her career as she continues to embrace new opportunities to learn and expand her skills in her work.

Anthony Quandt has been with the department for 4 years and has become a key piece of the department's Holding Company Division.

He has helped ensure insurance companies doing business in Nebraska remain financially stable and well-regulated for policyholders. His work includes collaborating with regulators around the globe, supporting oversight of large insurance groups, and continuing to help strengthen policyholder protection in Nebraska.

His work helps to protect Nebraskans today while also helping shaping the future of insurance regulation.

Adam Clayton, an insurance analyst in our Life & Health Division, has been with the Department for three years and eight years of experience in the insurance industry.

He reviews life and health insurance filings to help ensure Nebraskans can trust the policies available to them and monitors interstate compact standards to keep companies in compliance.

Adam takes pride in work that helps protect policyholders across the state and is a valued asset to the team.
