Did you know?

There is a mandatory 30-day waiting period for flood insurance, meaning if you have purchased flood insurance, coverage does not activate until 30 days from the date of purchase.

As we get closer to the spring season, it's important to remember your homeowners does not cover flooding due to rain. Consider getting flood insurance before the storms hit the state.

As part of our Insurance Careers Month series, we’re highlighting why NDOI employees choose public service.

Gina Goodro has spent 25 years with the Nebraska Department of Insurance, starting her career as a Mail Clerk Messenger with no prior background in insurance. By learning from the ground up, she has grown into numerous roles including Accounting Clerk, Staff Assistant, and now Insurance Education Analyst with the Licensing Division, where she reviews continuing education courses submitted for Nebraska producers.

Serving the public has guided her throughout her career as she continues to embrace new opportunities to learn and expand her skills in her work.
