Welcome home!

Last week, we had the privilege of celebrating a very special home dedication in Seward and welcoming a wonderful family into their new home.

This home has been a true community effort. We are especially grateful to the University of Nebraska’s Durham School of Architectural Engineering and Construction students who rolled up their sleeves and helped build this home. Their hard work gave students valuable hands-on experience while helping create something that will have a lasting impact for this family and the Seward community.

Home dedications are some of our favorite moments because they celebrate so much more than a finished house. They mark the beginning of a new chapter and a place where a family can put down roots, make memories, and truly feel at home.

Thank you to the students, volunteers, partners, donors, and everyone else who helped make this day possible.

And most importantly, congratulations to this lovely family! We are so happy to have been part of your journey and wish you many wonderful years and memories in your new home.

What an incredible way to wrap up Women Build 2026!

Friday evening, we had the privilege of celebrating the amazing women, teams, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters who made this year's Women Build such a success.

From fundraising and advocacy to swinging hammers, every person involved played a part in creating more than just houses; they helped build opportunities for families to achieve safe, stable, and affordable homeownership.

The evening was filled with great conversations, well-deserved recognition, and a chance to reflect on the impact we've made together. Congratulations again to our Lotus Award recipient and to everyone who contributed their time, talents, and generosity throughout this year's campaign.

A very special thank you to Food30 for providing an incredible catered meal. The food was absolutely delicious and helped make the evening even more memorable. We truly appreciate your generosity and support of our mission!

We know that attainable housing is only possible because of a community that chooses to invest in one another. Seeing so many passionate people gathered in one room reminds us that this work truly is a team effort.

Thank you to everyone who participated, donated, volunteered, sponsored, and cheered us on throughout Women Build 2026. Because of you, more families in our community are one step closer to achieving the stability and opportunity that comes with homeownership.

Rainy skies couldn’t dampen the spirit on the final day of our UNL build.

We are incredibly grateful to the University of Nebraska–Lincoln students, instructors, and staff who showed up, worked hard, and poured their time and talent into this Habitat project. Through this hands-on build experience, students are not only learning construction skills, they are helping create safe, affordable housing for families.

Partnerships like this are such an important part of our mission. They give students real-world experience, connect education with service, and show how the skills learned in the classroom can make a lasting difference in the community.

Thank you to every student, faculty member, and partner who helped bring this build forward. Your work matters, and the impact will be felt long after the last wall is raised.

A huge thank you to Tom for treating the UNL Construction Management students to lunch at Little Ted's during their time volunteering on our Nebraska City duplex build! Having community members like Tom step up to support and encourage them means so much.

We are grateful for Tom's generosity, Little Ted's hospitality, and the hard work of the students who are investing their time and talents to build strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.

Thank you for helping fuel both the volunteers and the mission!

Today is the FINAL day of Give to Lincoln Day!

At Habitat, we are building more than homes. We are creating opportunities for families to achieve strength, stability, and self-reliance through homeownership while also helping educate and inspire the next generation of builders and community leaders.

From working alongside future homeowners to partnering with construction students gaining hands-on experience, every build site becomes a place of learning, growth, and community impact.

Your support today helps make that possible.

There is still time to give and help build brighter futures throughout Lincoln and Lancaster County.
