Lincoln Police Department

Lincoln Police Department Area information, safety tips and crime alerts for visitors and residents to Lincoln We must respond to well founded criticism with a willingness to change

The purpose of the Lincoln Police Department is to uphold the law fairly and firmly; to prevent crime; to pursue and bring to justice those who break the law; to keep the peace, to protect, help and reassure the community: and be seen to do all this with integrity, common sense and sound judgment. We must be compassionate, courteous and patient, acting without fear or favor or prejudice to the rig

hts of others. We need to be professional, calm and restrained in the face of violence and apply only that force which is necessary to accomplish our lawful duty. We must strive to reduce the fears of the public and, so far as we can, to reflect their priorities in the action we take.

As we continue recognizing National Police Week, we also take a moment to reflect on the history and leadership of the Lincoln Police Department and the individuals who have served as Chief throughout the years.

Each Chief has helped shape the department through changing times, challenges, and growth within our community. From maintaining public safety to building relationships with residents, their leadership has helped establish the foundation the department stands on today.

Law enforcement has evolved significantly over the years, but the commitment to serving the Town of Lincoln has remained constant. We are grateful for the dedication, professionalism, and service of all those who have led this department, both past and present.

If you have old photographs, memories, or stories involving former Chiefs or officers of the Lincoln Police Department, we would love to hear them in the comments below as we celebrate the history of our department and community.
