The Lincoln Police Department, Lincoln Community High School and the Lincoln Railer Band Boosters will be hosting a Cell Phone for Soldiers drive on February 28th, 2020 during the Lincoln Railers basketball game against the Normal West Wildcats.
Donate any used cell phone at the concession stand and receive a free water and popcorn donated by the Lincoln Railers Band Boosters.
The American Legion post 263 will present our Nations colors during the National Anthem before the Varsity game.
Used cell phones will be recycled, and proceeds will be donated to the Cell Phone for Soldiers veteran assistance program.
Newly announced hours for the City of Lincoln Landscape Facility located at 957 Broadwell Drive. City of Lincoln residents can dispose of yard waste free of charge at the facility.

City of Lincoln 2019 Fall Leaf Collection and Landscape Waste Facility Schedule.
CVS Pharmacy located at 534 Woodlawn Road now offers an additional site for medication disposal. Guidelines for medication disposal at CVS are included in this post. The Lincoln Police Department maintains a medication disposal container outside of their facility at 710 Fifth Street that is available 24/7. Guidelines for disposal of medications at the police department can be found on their page.
Looking for a secure and confidential way to dispose of old personal and financial records? State Bank of Lincoln continues to provide this important community service to the citizens of Logan County. Confidential Paper Shredding will be offered Saturday, October 12th from 9 AM till 12 PM at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Shoe collection continues. New and gently used shoes are currently being collected by Klemm Tax Service. The shoes will be used to start micro-enterprises in developing countries allowing individuals to move towards self-sufficiency. Collecting tennis shoes, slippers, dress shoes, boots, sandals in adult, children and infant sizes. Shoes must be in good condition with no holes or overly worn soles. The collection will be held from 8 AM to 12 PM at the Logan County Fairgrounds and is sponsored by the Logan County Board. The collection is limited to Logan County residents and there is a $20 fee per television. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Spring/Summer IL-EPA Household Hazardous Waste Collection Schedule. HHW Collection in Havana (Mason County) will be the closest to Logan County. Today officially ends over two decades of recycling services to the residents of Logan County. Recycling bins located in Lincoln (Big R Lot) Emden, Burtonview, New Holland, Middletown, Broadwell, Cornland, Lake Fork and Beason will be removed over the next few days. PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE ANY MATERIALS AT COLLECTION SITES BEGINNING TODAY. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated. Recycling services in the City of Lincoln, Elkhart and Mt. Only two short weeks till recycling services end for most of Logan County. Recycling bins will be removed beginning next week - please do not leave any material(s) at collection sites once bins have been removed. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Final report from TV/Computer Monitor Recycling held September 8, 2018. Event was co-sponsored with the City of Lincoln utilizing BLH Computers of Springfield as the recycler. Total weight of the collection was 8,939 lbs or 4.47 ton.

Lincoln Police are making it easier and safer for you to dispose of your old, unused prescriptions. Have any sitting around? Take them to their DRUG DROP, located outside the station entrance on 5th Street.
Thanks to the following individuals who assisted with the TV/Computer Monitor Collection: Lincoln Street Superintendent Walt Landers and his staff Dave Bobb and Brandon Bridges, and Building & Safety Officer Wes Woodhall. Thanks are also sent to Charlie and Corey at Lincoln IGA for providing refreshments for the workers. Lastly, thanks are sent to Mike Maske and the Logan County Fair Association for allowing the Agency to use the fairgrounds for the collection.
Results from the TV/Computer Monitor Collection held Saturday, September 8th. Despite the rain, 77 households brought items to the collection; 63 of these households were from Lincoln. Atlanta, Mt. Pulaski, Harrisburg, Emden, New Holland, Middletown and Elkhart also had participating households. Most households brought one or two items to the collection. This was our first collection with BLH Computers, Springfield, as the recycler.
Good Morning! Information on the nearest Household Hazardous Waste Collection scheduled this fall. Please note that you will need to pre-register for this collection. The Agency has completed an application for a future Logan County Household Hazardous Waste Collection - fingers crossed!

This is 5,200 lbs of paper material that we unloaded on Monday at Midwest Fiber. Good size load!
Unload the last load of glass for 2014 - October's collection netted 8,500 lbs. The grand total for the 2014 Glass Recycling Program was 44,000 lbs or 22 tons - which averages out to 6,286 lbs per month. A B-I-G thanks to the Lincoln Woman's Club for providing volunteers on a monthly basis - without their assistance Glass Recycling would not be possible.
