Democratic voters made their decision, and now it’s time to unite behind our nominee, Chris Backemeyer, and focus on winning in November.

Chris Backemeyer earned the Democratic nomination and is the strongest candidate to defeat Mike Flood, whose continued support for the extreme MAGA agenda is out of step with Nebraska families.

Any effort to divide our coalition working to defeat Mike Flood only increases the likelihood of sending him back to Washington. The Lancaster County Democratic Party is focused on organizing, mobilizing, and delivering real results for Nebraskans.

The choice for change is clear. The united choice is Chris Backemeyer for Congress.

🚨 BIG NEWS! 🚨

New polling shows that our race is in a dead heat and our campaign can beat Mike Flood!

An outside poll from Tavern Research confirms that this district is competitive and we can flip this seat! We've been on the ground, doing the work, and it's paying off. Don't let anyone tell you this race isn't winnable.

But we can't do it alone. If you can chip in or volunteer, now is the time. Links in comments ⬇️

The DNC's 2024 autopsy is out.

It says Democrats need to build the bench, run candidates everywhere, train and retain talent, and stop treating elections as seasonal.

"Build to win. Build to last."

That's not a new idea. That's been NDTC's entire mission since 2016.

The report says Democrats have "enough money to think and act differently." But the training infrastructure? It already exists. It's been here. It works. And it's free.

πŸ“Š Since 2016, NDTC has:
βœ… Trained 128,000+ Democrats across all 50 states
βœ… Supported 10,000+ candidates
βœ… Celebrated 4,700+ general election wins
βœ… In 2025 alone, an "off year", trained 1,547 candidates, and 964 won

And here's how we do it. All for free:
πŸ“š 100+ on-demand courses built by real campaign experts
πŸ“‹ 200+ downloadable resources, templates, and guides
πŸ’» Weekly live virtual trainings led by experts
πŸ—“οΈ A free 30-Day Challenge for anyone exploring a run

The midterms are not a done deal. There are races to run and seats to flip at every level of the ballot.

Speak out. Step up. Run for office.
We will train you. And did we mention? - For FREE.

As a union member myself, I'm honored to have the support of Nebraska State AFL-CIO, whose members help build Nebraska from the ground up.

In Congress, I'll fight to protect workers' right to organize, create more good-paying union jobs right here in the First District, and bring down costs for hardworking families.

It wasn't enough to pardon those who stormed the Capitol on January 6th. Now they could get a taxpayer-funded payout too.

Nebraska families are struggling with high gas prices and grocery bills β€” while Washington is busy with political retribution and sticking your kids and grandkids with the tab.

This is what unchecked power looks like. And this is exactly why we need to flip this seat.

After yesterday's damaging storms, severe weather risks remain high across Nebraska today β€” and we all know how quickly conditions can change.

Please take warnings seriously, stay informed, and have a plan. And if you're able to do so safely, take a moment to check on elderly or vulnerable neighbors.

My thoughts are with the first responders and emergency personnel out there keeping Nebraskans safe.

Thank you to everyone who joined us last night at our Election Night Watch Party and to the Nebraska Democratic Party and Nebraska Young Democrats for co-hosting an incredible evening at the The Hub Cafe, with amazing live music from local band: The Algorhythms.

To every candidate who stepped up and every volunteer, organizer, and campaign staffer who poured their time, energy, and heart into this election: thank you. This work matters and it doesn’t stop here.

The stakes are too high to slow down. We have six months to knock more doors, talk to more voters, and build the coalition we need to win on November 3rd.

The work continues. And together, we will win.

Every door knocked. Every conversation had. Every vote cast. That's what this victory is made of.

I'm humbled and energized by the trust this district has placed in me, and I won't take a single moment of it for granted.

I also want to acknowledge Eric Moyer for running a race focused on the issues that matter most to our community.

Last night was the beginning. Now we finish what we started.

Flipping this seat won't be easy. But with you behind us, we can bring real leadership and accountability back to Congress.

Thank you for standing with me. Let's get to work.
