Nebraska Corn Board

Nebraska Corn Board The Nebraska Corn Board works to increase the value and sustainability of Nebraska corn. The Board elects a ninth “at-large” member.

The Nebraska Corn Board is a state funded agency funded through a ½-cent-per-bushel checkoff on all corn marketed in the state. The mission of the Nebraska Corn Board is to promote the value of corn by creating opportunities. Checkoff funds are invested in programs of market development, research, promotion and education. The Nebraska Corn Board is made up of nine farmer directors who serve three-

year terms. Eight members represent specific Nebraska districts and are appointed by the Governor of Nebraska.

Earlier this week, the Nebraska Corn Board was pleased to host a trade team of livestock nutritionists from Mexico. In partnership with the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council and POET the goal was to educate nutrionists about the value of dried distillers grains (DDGS) in livestock diets.

Thank you to NCB District 1 Director Dan Nerud, Weber Feedyards and Nebraska Animal Science for hosting and providing real-world examples of DDGS in action. These conversations continue and build relationships for Nebraska corn.

One of the Nebraska Corn Board's core pillars revolves around market development and diversifying ethanol demand. Ocean vessels consume billions of gallons of fuel annually, presenting a significant opportunity to diversify and expand ethanol demand. Congratulations to Maersk on their continued research and testing of 100% ethanol in their dual-fuel vessels.

Innovation like this is exactly what moves the corn industry forward.
