This is the first film adaptation of H.G. Wells’ novel of the same name. It stars Rod Taylor and Yvette Mimieux. It follows the novel closely with only a couple added scenes regarding the treat of nuclear war and the societal changes that threat would bring on. (Very much in mind in 1960.) Starts at 8 PM in the Narnia Room on the second floor of the Foundry. (elevator is available.) Free popcorn is available and feel free to bring your own. BYOB. Bring your dinner, bring a friend, bring a date. Some trivia and discussion after the movie.

Firstly, sorry for the late event notice.
i’m trying something new this month. Most people don’t know that in 1939, there was a full on N**i Rally held in Madison Square Garden. Marshall Curry gathered all the available film footage and put it together for an excellent Documentary. The film itself is very short, but there are several videos of discussion and historical context readily available. i would like to show the Documentary and begin our own discussion, then look deeper into the hisorical context and other discussion videos about the time and parallels with more current history.
As usual, free popcorn will be available, BYOB, bring snacks, bring your dinner, bring a friend, bring a date. In the Narnia room on the second floor of the Foundry.

Have you heard of LINCOLN REPAIR CAFE? Common Root board member Larry is a regular volunteer fixer! Repair Cafes are community events where fixers bring their tools and know-how and help individuals with broken items such as electronics and clothes fix them! Lincoln Repair Cafe happens every third Saturday at 1pm in the basement of New Visions United Methodist Church! More info below!

We are a group of volunteers who gather monthly to provide repair and mending services to the community, free of charge. Our goal is reduce the amount of items that are repairable, but end up in landfills. Services typically offered include clothing mending, household item repair, and costume jewelry repair.

What to expect:
- Our events are held in the church basement. There is an elevator available. We ask that you bring your item down to the basement with you for repair.
- Someone will greet you at the door, take down your information, and guide you to your repair volunteer or advise on the current wait time.
- All items brought to Repair Café must be taken with you when you leave. We do not have any storage available.
- Children need to be supervised at all times as some of our items are fragile or potentially dangerous.
- We strive to keep an environment where everyone is comfortable. As much as we love animals, we ask that you keep pets at home. Service animals are permitted.
- We reserve the right to limit the amount of repairs provided to any one attendee.
