The Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy application is now reopened, and we encourage eligible students and schools to continue applying.
⏰ Upcoming Deadline: August 1

🌟 Celebrating Multilingual Excellence in Nebraska! 🌟
The Nebraska Department of Education (NDE), in partnership with the Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy Advisory Committee, is proud to announce that 366 Nebraska Seals of Biliteracy were awarded to 362 students during the April 2026 award cycle! 🎓🌍
These students demonstrated a high level of proficiency in English and at least one additional language, showcasing a vital 21st‑century skill aligned to the Nebraska World Language Standards—communication, cultures, connections, communities, and cognition.
This year’s recipients earned the Seal in Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Latin, Somali, Spanish, and Ukrainian, marking an exciting milestone: the first time the Nebraska Seal of Biliteracy has been awarded for Ukrainian.
With these awards, a total of 696 Seals of Biliteracy have been awarded statewide during the 2025–2026 school year. Congratulations to all the students, educators, and families who support multilingualism and global readiness in Nebraska!
