I had the absolute honor this afternoon to once again speak at the annual Youth Climate Summit!! Meeting hundreds of high schoolers who *chose* to spend the day talking about environmental sustainability was an overwhelming, inspiring force of good. These kids depend on us to make careful decisions about the future of Nebraska, and I’m committed to protecting our climate right alongside them!!

Congratulations to Violet and Belle Troupe for winning the Young Leaders category at the 2026 Inspire Awards!!!

You might remember these sisters as the driving force behind LB762, my priority bill to require insurance coverage for PANS/PANDAS.

I could go on and on about the impact they've had on the Nebraska Legislature, or how the future is in good hands, but I think Violet captured it best: “We hope this story reminds other kids you don't have to be an adult to make a difference. Sometimes, you just have to be brave enough to use your voice.”

This week is National Diaper Need Awareness Week, so it feels extra special have LR391 in front of the Health and Human Services Committee today!

Diaper access is an essential component to maternal and infant health, and our youngest, most vulnerable Nebraskans deserve clean diapers in the correct size.

Access and cost doesn't just impact the 26,000 Nebraska children at-risk of diaper insecurity - it affects every child of diapering age. I'm proud to introduce LR391 and continue supporting healthy babies!

Electric shock gloves have no place in schools, and their use in Nebraska education is completely inappropriate. No student should be harmed at school, which is why I introduced LB1039 to prohibit school resource officers from inflicting corporal punishment.

Current and future students absolutely deserve better from us, and I'll continue to advocate for safe schools.

Baby Stellan's first news interview (OMG)!! I stay home with Stellan three days a week, because like so many families in the state, our household struggles to keep up with the cost of child care.

If we're serious about keeping young people in Nebraska, we can't forget about the needs of new families: good paying jobs, affordable housing, and budget-friendly child care options.

Families in Nebraska are facing a child care crisis that begins months before a baby is born, forcing parents to choose between careers and child care — a problem that First Five Nebraska says costs the state’s economy nearly $2 billion every year.

Let's not forget just four months ago, Governor Pillen *actively* supported legislation to bring data centers to Nebraska🙃🙃

And hey, if he's suddenly interested in protecting natural resources, I'd love to tell him alllll about the Green Amendment - the constitutional amendment I introduced to protect our right to a clean and healthy environment.

Nebraska Gov. Jim Pillen signed an executive order Monday barring new data centers from receiving tax incentives under the ImagiNE Nebraska Act. Pillen said the decision reflects a desire to balance economic development with protecting the state’s natural resources.

A big thank you to those who attended my town hall last week! I'm always SO appreciative and grateful when people take time out of their busy schedules to engage with the legislature!

Among the many topics discussed, the Q+A portion brought concerns about the budget, data centers, and food security. I'll keep working to ensure Nebraskans- especially those in northeast Lincoln- have the security and resources they need to live healthy, happy lives!

Take a look at the bills my office passed this session!! In a short, 60 day session where the budget debate took up lots and lots (did I mention LOTS?) of the legislature’s time, I’m incredibly proud to have passed these bills to work toward a healthy & thriving Nebraska!

🩺LB762 requires insurance to cover the treatment of PANS/PANDAS
🎨LB778 prioritizes funds for creative arts districts
🤰LB773 continues and expands the Prenatal Plus Program for at-risk mothers and babies

PS: My wife, Britta, and I welcomed our first baby this session (hi, Stellan!). Perhaps the ultimate highlight of the 2026 session?!!
