Congratulations to generous Foundation partner Jalen Brunson ’15 on being unanimously named the Eastern Conference Finals MVP after leading the Knicks to a series sweep of Cleveland.

Beyond his success on the court, Jalen continues to make a meaningful impact at Stevenson through the Jalen Brunson Patriot Wellness Initiative (JBPWI).

Before essays, applications, and deadlines take over, every Stevenson to College (S2C) meeting begins the same way — around a shared meal.

Volunteer S2C Mentors and their Scholars gather over pizza, tacos, or Culver’s favorites, using the time to reconnect, laugh, and ease into the evening. It’s a simple tradition that does more than feed the group. It builds connection, fosters trust, and sets the stage for meaningful support throughout the college journey.

As National Volunteer Week comes to a close, we extend a heartfelt thank you to all of our S2C Mentors. This week and every week, we are grateful for these dedicated volunteers whose time, care, and commitment help shape the success and futures of our Scholars.

Things were popping at our most recent Foundation Pop-Up. The smell of freshly popped popcorn drew hundreds of students over to connect with Foundation team members and learn more about programs like One Family and S2C. Students also had the chance to suggest and vote on a name for our Foundation capybara mascot, adding a fun, interactive element to the event.

Nearly 500 SHS students from low-income households are supported through Stevenson Foundation programs, yet many students don’t realize a nonprofit right here at school is behind this work. Lunch Pop-Ups help bring these efforts into focus, increasing visibility and awareness of the Foundation’s impact.

Our Lunch Pop-Up events bring the Foundation’s efforts into the spotlight. At a recent pop-up, students stopped by to play Pop-A-Shot, enter raffles, and connect with team members to learn how Foundation programs expand access to the tools and resources students need to thrive at SHS and beyond.

Last weekend, Foundation board and committee members gathered with our staff for the annual Leadership Retreat. The morning included discussion around the Foundation’s mission, program projections, and strategies for long-term impact.

A highlight of the retreat was hearing from Stevenson to College (S2C) Scholars Kayla ’25, Ivan '26, and Sophia '26, who shared how the Foundation’s support provides under-resourced students with the tools, confidence, and guidance needed to thrive at SHS and beyond.
