The Village partners with Clarke Environmental to reduce mosquito populations, but preventative measures on private property remain essential. Mosquito levels vary with weather, and nearby areas without abatement can increase local mosquito activity. Village services supplement prevention efforts on private property.

• Remove water collecting items such as tires, buckets, and kiddie pools.

• Trim shrubs, lawns, and other vegetation to reduce hiding places for adult
mosquitoes.

• Fill or drain low spots such as puddles or ruts.

• Clean and maintain gutters and downspouts.

• Empty and clean bird baths and other water basins every 72 hours.

To report standing water in the Village, file a Mosquito Annoyance Report, or sign up for service notifications, use Clarke's portal here: https://www.clarkeportal.com/hotline
