This evening LFD came to our Monday night training for some mutual aid training on drafting and pump operations.

North 321 was proud to host Fire Chief Rodney Wiggins from Greene County Fire Rescue at this months Lincoln County Fire and Rescue Association meeting. Chief Wiggins spoke about a line of duty death in his department that occurred in 2024 as the result of a re**er container fire. Chief Wiggins gave us some great insight into the dangers of these containers and things we can do to prevent injuries when dealing with them. Thank you Chief Wiggins for taking the time to travel to NC to share your powerful message.

TRAINING ACHIEVEMENT!!!!!!

Congratulations to 3 of our members for completing the UNC-Charlotte Fire and EMS Leadership Course. This was a 6 week course covering various topics on budgeting, Human Resources and many other aspects related to fire service administration. Members that completed the course were

A Re**er Container Awareness class is coming to Lincolnton!
After Greene County Fire Rescue tragically lost Battalion Chief Chris Eddy from an explosion in a refrigerated “re**er” container. This incident sent shockwaves and prompted the questions of “how?”.

This course highlights the lessons learned from this tragedy and introduces awareness for refrigerated trailers.

Congratulations are in order for Assistant Fire Chief Brady Hickman for receiving his Fire Officer designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence. This is a strenuous application process that requires dedication and commitment. Not only do you have to apply, you have to go through peer reviews with fire service professionals from across the country and then have to pass a vote for approval from a CPSE panel. This brings our department to having 3 members with designations from the CPSE which shows our commitment to bettering ourselves to serve you. Congratulations Chief Hickman.

We are very excited to be receiving these funds for capital improvement projects. Thanks to our elected officials for the support.

Four of our fire departments reached out to me with requests. Glad to be able to get them some money in this budget as well as opioid settlement money for some of our recovery programs. I’ll be voting yes on this budget today!
