This last Cadet Meeting was a very special meeting. It was First Sergeant Viscomis last meeting before his Basic Training in the United States Coast Guard! The cadets enjoyed a pizza, cupcake, and awards ceremony for Cadet Viscomi! We then finished the night doing traffic stop scenarios. We are so proud of Cadet Viscomi!

Tonight we celebrated our Cadets at our annual end of the year Christmas party. At this party we award all of our cadets based on years of service, achievements, and a special Cadet of the year. Each and every one of our cadets worked so hard this year! We appreciate our cadets for showing up, and we appreciate our advisors for putting in so much work all year long, your dedication does not go unnoticed.

This past Saturday, our Cadets put up, and ran their own booth at the Lincoln County Apple Festival! We hosted a county-wide pushup competition for all of our schools to see who could get the highest. (Lincolnton High School with 1,057!!) We appreciate all of the hard work by our Cadets and how each and every one of them work hard to promote a healthy attitude and keep our program running. What an awesome day!

The 5th annual LCSO Explorer Week 2024!

This week was full of so much fun! Our cadets became CPR certified, we had the opportunity to train with our negotiations team, our swat team and train individually with our amazing advisors. We are thankful to the Sheriffs Office for providing us with these opportunities and training facilities. Thank you to all of our advisors and other volunteers!

At last nights Explorer Meeting, the Explorers worked through suicidal negotiation scenarios. They went solo and in pairs and handled these situations the best they could. We focus on not being perfect but working through the hard scenarios to the best of our abilities. Great job last night!

At yesterday’s Explorer meeting, we ran through Traffic Stops, and Traffic Stops involving possible domestic situations. Use of Force forms were also introduced to the Cadets yesterday and after each scenario, all use of forces had to be documented. Such a great night!

At yesterday’s Explorer Meeting, Explorers practiced traffic stops particularly pertaining to DWI stops, dealing with both drivers and passengers. They ran through multiple different scenarios and learned how to properly perform Standardized Field Sobriety Tests. Great job last night cadets!
