The Village has been working to prepare for the installation of Small Wireless Facilities (SWF). Small cells are generally attached to existing utility poles or street lights in the public rights-of-way, and most small cells are installed on existing utility infrastructure. Since they offer a smaller service area, most small cells must be located about 500 to 1,000 feet from the location to be served. While the Village does have its own regulations for this equipment, most rules governing their location and use are based on State Statute. If you have any questions about this equipment please contact Charles Meyer, Assistant Village Manager, at [email protected] or (847) 745-4715.

The Village has begun hydrant flushing and will continue until the end of October. Signs will be posted in the areas that will be impacted by hydrant flushing prior to the commencement of flushing.

Residents may experience reduced water pressure in the area of the hydrant flushing and possibly temporary discoloration of their water. This discoloration consists primarily of harmless silt and precipitates and does not affect the safety of the water. If you experience discoloration in your water after crews have been flushing in your neighborhood, clear the pipes in your home by running all water faucets in your home for five minutes. For additional questions, please contact Public Works at (847) 675-0888.
