During the months of September and October, Village Hall will be showcasing the work of Piotr Antonow. His artist statement is as follows:

“I am a realist painter and paint what I see. My inspiration stems from the studies of studio models and personal photographs. I don’t invent lines, shapes, or form, but alter the reality by using layered colors and vanishing 3-D shapes. Using enhanced color detail in telling the story of each image, I present a more realistic portrait. The story within each painting emerges from the shifting forms and multiple layers of paint. Although the process appears chaotic and abstract, the resulting images are realistic and not invented.”

The Village received the Distinguished Budget Presentation Award from the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) for the current Fiscal Year 2023. This award is the highest form of recognition in governmental budgeting and represents a significant achievement. 09/12/2022

Since 2018, the State of Illinois has allowed for the construction of small wireless facilities (SWF) in the public right-of-way. The public right-of-way is typically 33 feet from the center of a roadway towards a resident’s property. The service area covered by a SWF is within 500 to 1,000 feet of the equipment. State Law provides specific guidance to approve this equipment and the Village routinely works with telecommunications equipment on existing poles, however, telecommunications companies may opt to install a new utility pole with adjoining SWF equipment. If you have any questions please contact Charles Meyer, Assistant Village Manager, at [email protected] / 847-745-4715.
