๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿš” Congratulations, Joseph Viggiano! ๐Ÿš”๐ŸŽ‰
After 27 years of dedicated service to the Lincolnwood Police Department, Police Records clerk Joe Viggiano is saying goodbye to the LPD.

Records Clerk Viggiano began his career with Lincolnwood on May 24, 1999, as a Communications Operator. He briefly left the village in August 2000 but returned to Lincolnwood in May 2001 to begin his career as an LPD police officer. In 2016, Joe hung up his patrol vest and joined the Records Division as a Records Clerk.

During his time as an officer, Joe received a Class C Commendation, 13 Honorable Mentions, several Unit Citation Awards, and recognition from AAIM for his DUI enforcement. He was also a mentor to many throughout his career by serving as a Field Training Officer (FTO) and member of the LPD Honor Guard. In 2019, he was recognized as Employee of the Month for his outstanding work in Records.

But beyond the awards, accomplishments, and job titles, what weโ€™ll remember most about Joe is the person he is. He has an incredible ability to make people feel welcome, cared for, and at home. Heโ€™s always been generous with his adviceโ€”whether it was about police work, records, cooking, or financeโ€”and he has been a friend and a familiar face to so many throughout the department.

Joe, thank you for 27 years of service, friendship, laughter, mentorship, and memories. You have left your mark on the Lincolnwood Police Department, and you will certainly be missed around here. Congratulations on your retirement! We wish you nothing but the very best in this next chapter. โค๏ธ

The Lincolnwood Police Department would like to remind residents to be extremely vigilant when receiving suspicious and unexpected phone calls from individuals claiming to represent credit card companies, law enforcement agencies, and various others.
Scammers are currently attempting to steal personal and identifying information by posing as representatives from these and other establishments.
Please remember:
โ€ข If you receive a call or recording asking you to purchase gift cards or other items as a form of payment, hang up immediately.
โ€ข Do not provide Social Security numbers, banking information, credit card numbers, passwords, or other identifying information to an unsolicited caller.
โ€ข If you are unsure whether a call is legitimate, hang up and independently verify the official phone number before calling back. Do not simply redial the number that appeared on your caller ID or use a number provided by the caller.
โ€ข Never allow a caller to pressure or frighten you into making an immediate payment.
Scammers can make phone calls appear very convincing, and caller ID information can be manipulated to make it look as though the call is coming from a legitimate company.
Please be especially cautious and share this information with family members, friends, and neighbors who may be vulnerable to these scams.
If you believe you have been the victim of a scam or have provided personal or financial information to a scammer, contact police immediately.
Thank you, stay vigilant, and be safe.
