June 3, 2026 City Council Meeting .

•Council discussed and approved a 5-year lease for Tourism Offices located at 55 Miranda Lambert Way, Unit 3

•Council discussed and approved Ordinance 10-2026 amending food vendor, solicitors, small scale Food Business, food manufacturers, and modified existing regulations.

•Council discussed and approved a city contribution not to exceed $1 million to the Liberty Crossing construction project in cooperation with the Lindale Economic Development Corporation.

•Council discussed and approved Mayor Gavin Rasco, Councilman Bryan Summerville, and Councilman Greg Kilgore’s absences on May 13, 2026 called Council meeting.

•Council discussed and approved Mayor Gavin Rasco’s absence at the June 16, 2026 meeting

•Council discussed and approved the minutes of the May 19, 2026 council meeting

•Council adjourned into Executive Session and upon return, no action was taken.

Every year the summer heat takes a toll on the men and women in the field running eight and nine hour routes in 100+ degree temps in our city to complete trash pickups. Republic has had success in the past with a schedule variance for the summer months, and is again asking for it this year.

Effective June 1st until September 1st, they will begin trash pick up at 6AM. We thank you for your cooperation.

Smith County will have 19 voting centers open for the Primary Runoff Election from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, May 26.
Statewide runoff races are on the ballot.
U.S. Senator, Attorney General, Railroad Commissioner and Court of Criminal Appeals, Place 3, Judge are on the Republican ticket. The Democratic ballot will have runoff races for U.S. Representative, District 1, Lieutenant Governor and Attorney General.
The City of Tyler Mayor Runoff Election is not on the current ballot. That election is set for June 13, with early voting beginning June 1.

As we pause to honor and remember the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, City of Lindale offices will be closed in observance of Memorial Day.

Emergency services will continue to operate as usual.

May 19, 2026 City Council Meeting

Mayor recognized and thanked City staff for their efforts in making the Spring Piney Woods Wine Festival a success and expressed anticipation for the fall festival in October.

•Mayor Gavin Rasco read a Proclamation to Designate City of Lindale as a Purple Heart City. Lisa Holmes, the DFW Mid Cities Chapter 1513 Adjutant, addressed the Council to present a sign and speak to what it means to be a Purple Heart City.

•Council discussed and approved a Resolution of canvassed returns for May 2, 2026, City of Lindale Special Election for Charter Amendments.

•Council discussed and approved an Order amending the City Charter in accordance with results of May 2, 2026, Special Election

•Council discussed and approved the re-plat of property located at 16906 Creekside Drive, Lindale, Texas

•Council discussed and approved a Resolution to adopt the Smith County 2026 Hazard Mitigation Action Plan.

•Council discussed and approved upgrades to the grounds at Picker’s Pavilion to include additional topsoil and grass replacement.

•Council discussed and approved Mayor Gavin Rasco’s absence from May 5, 2026, council meeting.

•Council discussed and approved the minutes of May 5, 2026 council meeting and May 13, 2026 called council meetings.

•Council discussed and approved the April 2026 Financials and Expenditure Reports.

•Council adjourned into Executive Session and upon return, no action was taken.
