Dear Community Members,

The Linden Volunteer Fire Department is pleased to announce a successfully awarded grant from Federal Emergency Management Agency Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.

The grant award totaling $38,065 will be used to purchase a K3 Fire, Inc Compact UHP Solutions K3 Fire Poly Products Ultra-High Pressure Skid Unit to be placed on a new Rapid Response Vehicle (RRV). The new (RRV) will be replacing Engine 2 that is 37 years old.

Ultra-High-Pressure Advantages
• NFPA 1901 & 1906 complaint UHP 22 GPM @ 1400 PSI.
• Gives you 16 times the water surface area for quicker fire knock down.
• Droplets are lighter and have longer hang-time. More heat is effectively absorbed per gallon of water used- truck water will last 6 times longer.
• Droplets are just light enough to follow the fire flow path & get drawn right into the flames. No need to get as close to the actual fire.
• 90-95% of the water is used in the fire, meaning less water damage and carcinogen laden water run-off. Reducing water damage compared to traditional methods.
• A ¾” UHP line is far more maneuverable for structure fires, car fires, etc. decreasing firefighter fatigue. It is easy to get in & around room content fires for quick fire attack.
