🚨 Speed Limit Reminder 🚨

Speed limit signs are being installed throughout the city. Please pay close attention to speed limits.

Residents are also reminded that, under Texas Transportation Code § 545.352(b)(1), the lawful speed limit on a street in an urban district is 30 mph unless otherwise posted.

Additionally, Texas Transportation Code § 545.351 requires drivers to operate their vehicles at a speed that is reasonable and prudent for existing conditions and to reduce speed when hazards, including pedestrians, may be present.

Pictured are Texas Street and South Foster.

With school out for the summer, more children may be walking, biking, and playing near our roadways. Please slow down, stay alert, and help keep our neighborhoods safe.

Thank you for doing your part to make our community a safer place.

Scam/Fraud Alert. Citizens have also been receiving texts message stating they have an unpaid citation. The Linden Police Department will only communicate via certified letter. You should never receive a text or phone call from a government agency asking for bank or financial information. If you have any questions about a text, call or uncertified letter, you can contact the Police Department. One of our officers will be happy to answer any questions or assist.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of fraudulent traffic court notices being sent to citizens claiming you owe money for parking or toll violations.

Let us be very clear:❌ These notices are NOT legitimate❌ Do NOT scan the QR code❌ Do NOT send any money

These scammers are using fear tactics and official-looking documents to trick you into paying fake fines. Government agencies will not demand payment through QR codes, nor will they pressure you with threats like this without proper, verifiable processes.

If you receive one of these:👉 Do not respond👉 Do not provide personal or financial information👉 Report it to your local law enforcement agency

When in doubt, call the court directly using a verified phone number! Do not call the one listed on the notice.

We don’t want your money… scammers do. Don’t give it to them.

Stay alert, Harrison County. 👀
