During Polish Heritage Month (October), Mrs. Pelesz and Mrs. Perz-Winters conducted some bilingual activities for students speaking Polish and English at School 6. They played interactive language games, implemented hands-on activities about Polish food (poster and memory game), made flags, and created a bulletin board displaying information about the language, culture and famous people with Polish roots, such as actors and scientists.

Mr. Merton (Kindergarten teacher) read books in English about Polish cuisine, which conveyed the moral: "Respect your roots, know your background, and learn other languages".

On October 24th, 2025 Ms. Denert and Ms. Pelesz attended the district wide event organized by the LPS Multilingual Department celebrating Hispanic and Polish cultures and traditions. The event took place at School 1 and was an extension of what we do at School 6, so students from other schools could benefit from it as well.
