Congratulations to the Linden Police Narcotics Bureau, which was awarded the New Jersey Narcotic Enforcement Officers Association (NJNEOA) Gun, Gangs & Drugs Law Enforcement Unit Award during a ceremony held last week.
Lieutenant Martin Jedrzejewski, Sergeant Gavin Sheehan, Detectives Michael Olbrys, James Edgar, Camille Melendez, Stephanie Diaz, and Ariel Franjul, along with Officers Jesse Colon, Jillian Iazzetta, Matthew Matlosz, and Daniel Viana, were recognized for their work during a long-term, multi-agency investigation that resulted in 24 arrests, the recovery of six handguns, the seizure of significant quantities of he**in, co***ne, crack co***ne, and methamphetamine, and the confiscation of more than $81,000 in cash.
“This was an exceptionally effective investigation that dismantled a sophisticated drug trafficking network and disrupted the flow of illegal narcotics into our communities,” said Linden Police Chief David Hart. “This well-deserved recognition is a testament to the dedication, persistence, and sacrifice demonstrated by these Officers and our law enforcement partners over the course of several months.
