The Suffolk Dems are PROUD and EXCITED to introduce our candidates for Suffolk County Comptroller, Jon Estreich and Suffolk County Clerk, Anthony Portesy!🙌
“I’m incredibly proud to support Jon Estreich and Anthony Portesy, along with the entire Suffolk County Democratic Committee’s slate of candidates,” said Suffolk County Democratic Committee Chairman Rich Schaffer. “They’re not running to talk about change - they’re running to deliver it. Jon will bring real financial discipline and oversight to county government, and Anthony will modernize how our government serves people. That’s a powerful combination, and I’m confident it’s going to be the difference in this race.” - Chairman Rich Schaffer
Estreich is a Long Island native, a Dix Hills dad, and husband. He has been a lawyer for more than 20 years and has the privilege of serving as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve. He previously served as a Suffolk County Assistant District Attorney and an Investigative Attorney at the MTA Inspector General. As a Soldier on active duty in Korea, he investigated the misuse of government funds by a senior leader.
Portesy began his career at King Kullen as a proud member of UFCW Local 1500, where he was elected by his peers to represent them and help negotiate their union contract. That experience shaped his path forward – he went on to New York Law School and built a career as an employment attorney, advocating for working families and small business owners.
Together, Estreich and Portesy are presenting a forward-looking vision for Suffolk County government, grounded in experience, transparency, and results.
