Lindenwold Fire Department was called to the middle school at approximately 630am for an activated Fire alarm. When the first arriving patrol officer got there they observed smoke in the stairwell and had a burning odor. The Laurel Springs and Lindenwold Fire department’s arrived and investigated the school determining it to be an electrical issue with an older fan heater. The school was closed today for as precaution in order to ensure student and faculty safety. This is another example of fire alarm systems doing the job they are meant to and preventing a small issue from becoming a larger one. SAFER Grant Award

A major step forward for the Lindenwold Fire Department and the community we serve.

We’ve been awarded federal funding through the Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant Program.

This SAFER award will help bring five new full-time firefighters to the department in 2027.

Thank you to everyone who worked on the application and supported this effort over the past several years. We’re excited for what this means for Lindenwold.

🚁 Landing Zone Established

Earlier today our firefighters assisted with establishing a landing zone for a medical helicopter responding to a medical emergency.

Working alongside our EMS partners, firefighters secured and prepared the landing area to help ensure the helicopter could safely land and depart while providing rapid access to advanced medical care for the patient.

A vehicle into a pole at Whittier and East Linden Avenue. Driver was trapped, has been extricated and taken to local hospital.

There is a large tree down blocking the roadway on Lake Boulevard by Laurel Rd. The road is not passable at this time. Crews are going to remove ASAP. Please avoid this intersection

Who doesn't love smores around a backyard fire? Follow these tips to enjoy them safely! 🔥🍫

✅Use a metal screen over wood-burning fires to keep sparks from floating out
✅Put out fires before you leave the backyard
✅Use long-handled tools
✅Place fire pits at least 10 feet away from your house and anything else that can burn
✅Closely watch children when fire pits are in use

Last night at 758pm, Lindenwold Fire Department was dispatched to Lindenwold school 4 on Gibbsboro Rd for a report of possible smoke in the area. There were contractors on scene working on the roof and AC units. When Police arrived they found a smoke condition inside the school and evacuated all the staff and workers. When the fire department arrived we found smoke inside and a large heat signature in the roof area. Crews worked quickly to contain the fire and the damage to the building. School administration was on scene within minutes assessing the issues and worked with the fire department to ensure the building was safe. The fire was determined to be accidental in nature and the scene was turned over to the school administration. Any other questions should be directed to the school.
