As the director of Lindbsorg EMS, I just want to take a moment during EMS Week to say 🎉THANK YOU🎉to the incredible team I get to work alongside.

To my fellow EMTs, AEMT’s and Paramedics, — your dedication, compassion, and strength never go unnoticed. Whether it’s a late-night call, a tough scene, or just being there to support one another, you show up every time. And that means everything.

It’s an honor to wear the same patch and serve this community with all of you.

Winter holidays are a fun time to gather and celebrate. The holidays are also a time of increase fire risk and accidents in the home. AMR, Lindsborg offers these guidelines to help keep your holiday season safe.

• Holiday entertaining – keep an eye on the range (unattended cooking is the leading cause of
house fires) and be sure your smoke detectors are working.

• Holiday lighting – use caution with decorations and choose flame-resistant, flame-retardant and
non-combustible materials when possible. Use only certified lights for outdoor decorating.

• Indoor decorations – choose decorations made of non-leaded materials. Keep candles away from
children, decorations and live plants.

• Trees – check for freshness when purchasing a live tree (green with needles hard to pull from
branches) and look for a “fire-resistant” label when purchasing an artificial tree.

• Fire prevention – always turn off your decorations when you leave your home and when you’re
sleeping. Most deadly fires happen while people are asleep
