At 1606 hours on 07/22/2026, LVFD was dispatched for a full assist to Fellows' Club Fire & EMS for a garage fire with smoke showing per Crawford County Dept of Public Safety on Licking St. in the Borough of Conneautville. Engine 15-3 responded. Engine 8-1 arrived on scene and confirmed the dispatch. The fire was quickly extinguished by the first crews on scene, at which time LVFD was placed in service.

This evening at 2002 hours, LVFD was dual-dispatched with Summit Twp Fire & Rescue Dept 20 to assist EmergyCare Conneaut Lake with a bicycle accident on West Erie St. Ext. in Pine Township. Personnel from LVFD responded to the scene to provide basic life support care to the injured bicyclist, while STVFD Engine 20-01 responded to the First Baptist Church of Linesville to set up a landing zone for STAT MedEvac 14. Emergycare transported the patient to the landing zone and the patient was subsequently transported by STAT MedEvac to a local trauma center. Crews from LVFD and STVFD also responded to a lift assist in the Borough of Linesville during this time, recording our 90th call of 2026. Thank you to Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and Conneaut Lake Regional Police Department who also assisted with these incidents.

Yesterday evening, members of LVFD along with Summit Twp Fire & Rescue Dept 20 and North Shenango Fire Department, provided fire/rescue and EMS standby coverage for the Independence Day celebration at the Linesville Beach area. Despite the sweltering heat, it was a great evening had by all to honor our nation’s 250th birthday. Special thank you to the Linesville VFW and their sponsors for putting this together for our community.

IMPORTANT ALERT: For everyone planning to attend the Independence Day celebration this evening at the the Linesville / End of the Road beach area, please be mindful that temperatures are expected to remain exceptionally high even after sunset in the 70-80s with heat index values in the 80-90s. Please be sure to wear appropriate light clothing that is cool and comfortable and bring plenty of fluids (preferably water) to drink and stay hydrated throughout the evening. This is especially important for older adults, children, and those with vulnerable medical conditions.

Our members will be present to provide both fire protection and emergency medical services in the event that such care is needed. Please alert one of our members, a DCNR park ranger, or other event staff should you or a loved one be experiencing an emergency. If you are unable to locate anyone, please call 911 and stay where you are so that we can easily locate you within the event area. We will have extra water, ice packs, and other cooling measures available.

As always for your safety and that of others, please remain out of the restricted areas and follow any and all directions provided by our members, DCNR park rangers, or other event staff. For any non-emergent questions or concerns regarding the event, please contact the Linesville VFW as they are the event host.

TRAFFIC ALERT: As of 10:30PM on 06/16/2026, U.S. Highway 6 near the intersection of Wheeler Rd. in Conneaut Township will be closed until further notice due to communications lines blocking both lanes of travel.

The Linesville Volunteer Fire Department reminds our local community to please consider helping us help one of our own. Today, June 14 from 2:00PM-6:00PM, we are hosting a benefit at our station for Jeremy Barth who is scheduled for life-saving cardiac surgery at the Cleveland Clinic that same month. For those who may unfamiliar with Jeremy, members of his immediate family have served our organization and the community for decades, including his brother-in-law (current Fire Chief Justin Harper), sister-in-law (current Vice President Amanda Harper), mother-in-law (current Treasurer Vicki Harper), and father-in-law (past Fire Chief / past President Ron Harper). It is now our turn to give back in this time of great need. If you are unable to attend the benefit, please consider making a donation. All proceeds directly benefit Jeremy Barth and his family.
