Fruits and veggies are an important part of a healthy diet, so being able to track how much you spend on produce each month can be helpful! Use the produce calculator icon in the WICShopper app to see how many WIC dollars you've spent on produce so far, and how much you have left for the month. Now, when you go to the store, there's no more guesswork on how much produce you can buy! The WICShopper app will make your life easier and track it all for you.

Download the app for free on Google Play or the App Store today!

With longer days and more time spent outdoors, it’s important to remember that sun exposure adds up quickly - even in the spring. Whether you’re heading to the park, working outside, or just enjoying the weather, taking a few simple steps can help protect your skin now and in the future.

Sun safety doesn’t have to be complicated - it just needs to be consistent. Making it part of your daily routine can prevent painful sunburns and reduce long-term health risks.

Here are a few easy ways to stay protected:
☀ Apply broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 30+) before going outside and reapply every 2 hours, especially after swimming or sweating
☀ Wear protective clothing like hats and sunglasses, and don’t forget often-missed spots like ears, neck, lips, and hands
☀ Take breaks in the shade and try to limit direct sun exposure during peak hours (10 AM-4 PM)
☀ Stay hydrated as temperatures rise - your body needs more water than you think

A little planning goes a long way when it comes to protecting your health. Enjoy the sunshine, stay safe, and make sun protection part of your everyday routine. ☀️🕶️

Nothing says Memorial Day like firing up the grill, good food, and time with the people you care about 🇺🇸🔥

As you get ready to celebrate, don’t forget a few simple grilling safety tips: keep your grill a safe distance from your home and anything flammable, never leave it unattended while it’s hot, and clean off grease buildup to help prevent flare-ups. Use long-handled tools to protect yourself from burns, and make sure your food is cooked thoroughly so everyone can enjoy the day without worry.

A little extra care goes a long way in keeping the vibes fun and stress-free. Wishing you a Memorial Day filled with good memories, great food, and most importantly - safety ❤️

☀️🏃‍♀️ Field Day fun + public health education = a win-win! We had a great time joining our local schools for Field Day/Sports Day, where we shared summer safety tips and talked about impaired driving - all while having fun with the students too! 🚲🧴🚗💙

Public health isn’t just about what happens inside our office. It’s about meeting people where they are, building healthy habits early, and helping kids learn how to stay safe so they can enjoy all the fun summer has to offer.

The kids had fun, we had fun, and together we’re building a healthier, safer community - one field day at a time. ☀️💙
