Heavy rainfall and severe weather created dangerous conditions across our area today, including flash flooding on several roadways.

Osage EMS Medic 631 responded to a vehicle accident after floodwaters covered a roadway and caused a vehicle to hydroplane and enter the water.

Thankfully, all occupants were able to safely exit the vehicle and were evaluated by EMS. No serious injuries were reported.

This incident serves as an important reminder: never drive through flooded roadways. The depth and strength of moving water can be deceiving and can quickly put lives at risk.

We appreciate everyone who assisted and encourage motorists to use caution as wet weather continues across the region.

๐ŸŽก๐Ÿš‘ The Belle Fair is officially underway! ๐Ÿš‘๐ŸŽก

Like many of you, our favorite part of fair week is spending extra time with friends, family, and our community.

A big thank you to our EMS Explorers, friends, and family members who helped us kick off the fair parade and hand out candy! Weโ€™re also proud of our EMS Explorers for working their first official event assignment, First Aid Kit Building and EMS Command Post.

We hope everyone has a great week at the fair. If you see us around, stop by and say hello!

โ˜€๏ธ Beautiful weather and busy crews across the district today!

This morning, Medic 611 provided standby coverage for the Rescue Innocence 5K.

You can also find us at the Gerald Firemenโ€™s Picnic, where Command 6125, Utility 6115, and ASAP 1 are on display for visitors to check out.

While covering the southern part of the district, Medic 631 and Medic 632 even found time to enjoy some local scenery, including a beautiful lavender field and a chainsaw-carved wooden statue.

We hope youโ€™re enjoying this beautiful day as much as we are. Stay safe and have a great weekend! โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿš‘

As our Spring EMT class wrapped up, to say theyโ€™ve been busy would be an understatement!

Over the past several weeks, students have participated in hands-on training and real-world learning experiences designed to prepare them for the challenges of EMS. Recently, students completed Landing Zone Operations training with the flight crew from Phelps Air, learning helicopter safety, landing zone operations, and when air medical transport is appropriate. Thank you to Phelps Air-Air Methods for taking the time to provide such a valuable experience!

In another exciting opportunity, our EMT capstone scenario day brought together students, volunteers, and our EMS Explorers program for a full-scale simulated incident experience. EMT students took the lead role in patient care while our EMS Explorers stepped in to play the role of patients.

We are proud of the hard work and dedication these students continue to demonstrate as they prepare to enter the EMS profession!
