Property Tax Relief NOT limited to seniors. Vote YES on Tuesday, April 7.

There’s a Second Tax Relief Question on the Ballot — Vote YES on Both!

Passed by the legislature in 2025 and signed by Governor Kehoe.

Full Ballot Text (137.1055): “Shall the county of Osage exempt eligible taxpayers from certain tax increases on eligible taxpayers’ primary residence above the liability incurred during the initial tax credit year?”

Key Facts:
• This second measure is not limited to seniors — it may help younger homeowners, too.
• If both pass, both will be implemented (confirmed by Missouri State Tax Commission: 573-751-2414). Seniors may qualify for both but can only apply for one.
• The citizen-initiated senior freeze (137.1050) is the stronger, more permanent protection — it cannot be altered by the County Commission. Only voters can change it later.
Get out and vote YES on both measures April 7! Protect our seniors and keep Osage County strong.

VOTE YES!

We appreciate the Secretary of State taking this issue seriously. The full letter is now available in our Sunshine Library for everyone to review.

OCRC Returns Filing Fees to Six Candidates – Nomination Not Granted

Today, the Osage County Republican Central Committee returned filing fee checks to six candidates who did not complete our required nomination process, including vetting. The candidates are Brooke Dudenhoeffer (County Clerk), Maryann Jacquin (Circuit Clerk), Sonya Brandt (Associate Circuit Judge), Amanda Grellner (Prosecuting Attorney), Denise Nolte (County Collector), and Carrie Muenks (County Recorder).

Without nomination from the committee, these names cannot appear on the Republican primary ballot. Our process protects the Republican label and ensures alignment with conservative principles. We remain open to any candidate who completes nomination by March 29.

OCRC Sends Cease and Desist to County Clerk
We’ve demanded the Osage County Clerk stop advising Republican candidates to bypass our nomination process. Missouri law gives the committee — not the clerk — authority to decide who appears on the Republican primary ballot for county races.
This protects voter trust and the Republican label. Read the full letter and press release in our Sunshine Library. https://osagecountyrepublicans.com/document/press-release-ocrc-sends-cease-and-desist-letter-to-osage-county-clerk-march-7-2026/

03/02/2026

The Osage County Republican Central Committee (OCRC) has filed a formal election complaint with the Missouri Secretary of State Elections Division against Osage County Clerk Brooke Dudenhoeffer for failure to promptly forward filing fees to the committee Treasurer that were submitted to the clerk by Republican candidates for county offices.

Missouri law (RsMO 115.357) requires candidates for county office to pay their filing fee to the party committee treasurer. If submitted to the clerk, the fee must be promptly forwarded by the clerk to the committee treasurer. Despite clear advance written notice from OCRC (including emails, letters, and hand-delivered instruction sheets in December 2025 and January 2026), no fees have been received by the Treasurer as of March 2, 2026 — even though multiple candidates filed as Republicans on February 24 and possibly thereafter.

On February 24, 2026, the Clerk stated she is “just doing what I'm told” by external legal counsel and a commissioner. This willful neglect or refusal to perform a statutory duty may constitute a Class Four Election Offense under RsMO 115.637(12).

02/27/2026

The Osage County Republican Central Committee voted to reject Presiding Commissioner Darryl Griffin's 2026 candidacy under the Republican label. This is due to his failure to complete vetting and remit the filing fee to our Treasurer, as required by Missouri law and our bylaws.
We have also learned he may use taxpayer funds to challenge our authority. In a year when voters will decide on two tax-lowering initiatives, this is especially concerning.
Vetting is free and ensures candidates align with conservative principles. We remain open to any candidate who complies. Start here: https://osagecountyrepublicans.com/vetting/

Filing for 2026 is underway in Osage County.

A recent Missouri court ruling reminds us that political parties have clear authority to reject filing fees — and thus ballot access under the party label — when candidates do not complete a prescribed vetting process.

From the May 17, 2024, Cole County Circuit Court judgment in Missouri Republican Committee v. Secretary of State and Darrell McClanahan III:

“Plaintiff is a sophisticated entity and the record shows that it was not only aware of a party’s authority to reject a filing fee offered by a candidate, but that segments of the Missouri Republican party have already adopted a policy of rejecting filing fees from any candidate who has not completed a prescribed vetting process. The Plaintiff could have chosen to avoid potentially unwanted associations by rejecting filing fees for statewide candidates. It did not do so.”

OCRC continues to follow our bylaws and Missouri law in requiring vetting for Republican candidates in Osage County.
