📬 CHANGE IN VALUE NOTICES WILL BE MAILED FRIDAY, JUNE 12TH!

We understand property value changes can raise questions, so we wanted to provide some helpful information ahead of time.

âť“ Why am I receiving this notice?
This notice is to inform you of a projected increase to your assessed property value for the 2026 tax year.

âť“ Why did my value increase?
Property values may increase due to:
• New construction
• Property improvements
• Previously incorrect or incomplete property data that resulted in an undervaluation

âť“ How much will my taxes increase?
At this time, we are unable to provide an exact dollar amount because tax levies for each taxing district will not be finalized until September.

However, for your convenience, your notice will include a hand-written estimate based on the 2025 tax levy to help give you a general idea of the possible change.

Tomorrow, Thursday April 30th, 2026 is the last day to file your 2026 Business/Personal Property Assessment Sheets without penalty. Friday, May 1st, our office is required by statute to apply a late penalty. Those amounts range from $15-$105 depending on your assessed value. PLEASE do not wait! Linn County Commission is currently accepting applications for a responsible custodian to maintain our courthouse and facilities. Responsibilities include taking out trash, tidying furniture, dusting surfaces, sweeping and mopping floors, vacuuming carpets, windows and doors, and cleaning and restocking restrooms. Full-time position with benefits, salary to be determined. Applications are available at the County Clerk’s office, Room 102, at the Courthouse in Linneus during regular business hours.
