On June 4, 2026, at approximately 12:26 P.M., the Lino Lakes Police Department, Blaine Police Department, Centennial Lakes Police Department, Fridley Police Department, Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, Ramsey County Sheriff’s Office, Minnesota State Patrol, and Allina EMS responded to the 7100 block of Snow Owl Lane NE in the City of Lino Lakes on the report of a disconnected call and text messages to 911 regarding a domestic assault.

As law enforcement reached the scene and contacted an individual at the residence, a gunshot was heard coming from within the home. Officers were able to remove the individual from the residence unharmed, and no known victims were inside the residence. The Anoka County S.W.A.T. team responded, and a perimeter was established. In an abundance of caution, the nearby schools of Centennial Middle School and Blue Heron Elementary School were placed into a soft lockdown.

Inside the residence, officers located the adult male suspect deceased from an apparent gunshot wound. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office. There is no known threat to the public and law enforcement is not looking for additional suspects.

This incident is under investigation by the Lino Lakes Police Department, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office, and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office. No further information will be released at this time.

Each year during National Police Week, we pause to remember the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their communities. It is a solemn reminder of the courage, dedication, and selflessness required to stand on the front lines of public safety. We are forever grateful. We’d specifically like to acknowledge the sacrifice of Officer Shawn Silvera, a Lino Lakes Police Officer, who was killed in the line of duty on September 6, 2005.
