The City of Linton announces that the A M Risher pool will remain closed for the current
season as the City moves forward with critical repairs and capital improvements in
preparation for the 2027 season.
Following an evaluation of the pool’s current safety and structural condition, in conjunction with the scheduled installation of a new liner this summer, City officials determined that completing the necessary work at this time is the most responsible course of action. The possibility of opening for a shortened season was eliminated this week after confirmation that the existing liner is no longer repairable.
During the closure, the City will complete electrical upgrades, concrete deck improvements, mechanical repairs, and other long-needed maintenance. The project timeline will also provide an opportunity to consider additional enhancements recommended by the
Revitalization Committee.
The City recognizes that the pool’s closure this season will affect residents and community
organizations, including the Greene County Swim Team. However, when combined with the
bathhouse improvements completed last season, this year’s repairs and upgrades are
expected to help ensure the facility remains safe, functional, and available for community
use for the next 10 to 15 seasons.
The City remains committed to working in partnership with the Revitalization Committee to complete these improvements and preserve the long-term future of the A M Risher pool for the Linton community
