🚒 Mutual Aid Response 🔥

This evening, our firefighters responded in mutual aid to assist the Tyro Rural Fire Dept. with a structure fire.

We are incredibly proud of the hard work, dedication, and professionalism our members demonstrated while working alongside our neighboring departments. We also want to acknowledge the concern and support from our community throughout the incident.

We are aware that there were reports of a firefighter being down during the incident. We are thankful to report that the firefighter is okay and has been released from the hospital. ❤️‍🩹🚒 We know these reports can be concerning, and we truly appreciate everyone who reached out, checked in, and kept our firefighters in their thoughts.

Our crews have since cleared the scene and returned home, and our apparatus have been checked and placed back in service.

Thank you to everyone who supports our firefighters and the communities we serve. Your care and encouragement mean more than you know.

UPDATE - Wilson Rd. is back open at this time. Stay safe!

*** BE ADVISED, Wilson Road near the Churchland Elementary School end is closed between HWY 150 and Ed Rickard Road due to a large tree that has fallen and taken out power lines. City of Lexington has been notified and is working to come remove the tree and restore power. We currently do not have an ETA to have the power back on and road back open ***

*** UPDATE *** all lanes of I-85 south are now open. PLEASE DRIVE CAREFULLY & MOVE OVER FOR EMERGENCY VEHICLES

BE ADVISED...at this time, I-85 southbound at the Yadkin River Bridge is currently shut down due to a jack-knifed truck, an over turned vehicle and several other vehicles involved. If travelling southbound, exit at Belmont Rd. The southbound lanes will likey be closed for an extended period of time.

Please slow down, use caution and MOVE OVER for emergency vehicles!

Congratulations to our very own Michael Frazier who graduated from Charlotte FD’s 135 recruit academy today! He is the son of Chief Barry Frazier.

Congratulations to Charlotte Fire Recruit Class 135!

Today, these 19 recruits officially graduated from the Charlotte Fire Training Academy and took the oath to serve the people of Charlotte.

Over the past several months, they have challenged themselves physically and mentally, learned the skills needed to respond when our community calls, and earned the privilege of wearing the Charlotte Fire badge. They now begin their careers serving and protecting the Queen City.

Please join us in welcoming the newest members of the Charlotte Fire family: Zachary Costantino, Joshua Denkins, Michael Frazier, Jakob Goodman, Garson Greathouse, Clayton Henderson, Greylyn Honeycutt, Brandon Hughes, Gabriel Mahan, Elijah Morton, Blas Munoz, Matthew Payne, Daniel Pruitt, Jarrad Satornino, Jordan Tucker, Thomas Walker, Adam Watts, Kyle Whiting and Destiny Williams.

We are thankful to receive a grant of $4,600.00 from the State of North Carolina Office of State Fire Marshal. The total funding for this 50/50 matching grant is $9,200.00. This money will be used to install Insta Chain snow chains on both of our front line engines and will allow us to better service our community during snow and ice events. Thank you for your support!
